The rivers of time flow slowly on this world. Despite it being over 450 years, most Safir still remember the tyrannical dictatrix that ruled over their world with an iron fist. The monarchy has fully healed since then, but an attack on the Empire House has destroyed all the records of the old kingdom. Again, the Safir must start anew, with each determining her own destiny and that of her race. The rivers of time flow slowly, but they are not infinite.

The Safirian Empire is set in 2060 on the fictional world of Safiria (http://infinitypedia.ath.cx/index.php/Safiria), which sits at the edge of our galaxy. Due to advances in space travel, Safir and Terrans mingle on both races' homeworlds. The government is an absolute monarchy, with some elements lovingly ripped off from the Australian government. The first election is May 15.

The only thing that I ripped off from the Australians is the concept of the double dissolution (in which all members of both houses are elected at once), which I ripped off since it seems to fit rather nicely into the concept of an absolute monarchy.
