Hyperborean birthday letters
Hyperborea's tenth birthday is coming up later this month. We can't afford a big convention blowout of the level Shireroth is going to do, but I don't want the occasion to pass completely unremarked either.
So here's the plan. I want to send some people letters, in Hyperborean language/script, offering them best wishes on this occasion and thanking them for their support of Hyperborea. It would probably look something like this, which is the only good Hyperborean pic I've got online now. That'll encourage me toward get the conlang to a workable state too.
I don't want to have to write a bunch of these. Three should be more than enough. If you want one, post on this thread and PM me your real-life address.
PS: I reserve the right to decide this was a horrible idea and I'm too busy, and not send anyone anything at all.

That is an exceedingly cool pic, and I think this is an excellent idea. Especially since Hyperborea was the first micronation I really joined.
We should celebrate this at the Shirecon in London too!

Re: Hyperborean birthday letters
I like the idea of doing something for the birthday, but I'm not sure what good a letter in a script I can't read would be. The conlang has always been, to me, the least interesting part of Hyperborea, which otherwise has fairly interesting and different views on religion, philosophy, architecture, and humanity.

I think they look beautiful and would like one, but I may be further than you actually want to send them (plus have very little relations with Hyperborea, apart from admiring it's awesomeness in the past couple years)
The character Andreas the Wise is on indefinite leave.
However, this account still manages:
Cla'Udi - Count of Melangia
Manuel - CEO of VBNC. For all you'll ever need.
Vincent Waldgrave - Lord General of Gralus
Q - Director of SAMIN
Duke Mel'Kat - Air Pirate, Melangian, and Duke of the Flying Duchy of Glanurchy
And references may be made to Vur'Alm Xei'Bôn (a Nelagan Micron of undisclosed purpose).

Progress report: I've written and translated the text into Hyperborean slightly less sucky than most of my conlanging attempts:

As the Elder of Hyperborea, I send you my best wishes on this day, the spring equinox and the ten year anniversary of its foundation. Over the past years, though Hyperborea stayed small, I hope it's made some people think, developed a sort of aesthetics, and enriched Shireroth and Micras. You've helped and watched the country through many of those years, and for that on this day I give the old Hyperborean blessing:
May Truth and Beauty warm your spirit
and may you live in the springtime of Joy

Thankyou Scott. I received it today and it looks very beautiful.
What significance do the characters running down the side have?

Re: Hyperborean birthday letters
That's Kadhamic script, According to the short explanation in Elwynn:
Kadhamic language itself doesn't exist yet, so the text there is just a cipher of English. It's the text of the same blessing as in the letter, plus some filler to make it line up.There are two Hyperborean languages in common use, Kadhamic and Kalasperelin. Kalasperelin is the older and the more commonly spoken. Kadhamic is an in-game conlang invented by prophet/reformer Kadham Ragum, who was trying to develop a language in which it was impossible to speak unclear or misleading thoughts as part of his program to create good government. For a few centuries after Kadham's death, everyone was really into Kadhamic, and everyone who was anyone spoke it as their main language. Eventually, Kalasperlin, the demotic, took back over for everyday life, and Kadhamic was relegated to a ritual language used for philosophical discussion, political debate, and proceedings of government.
