Steward Decree #440: Budget.
This decree is to instruct all ministers that they are encouraged to look to the needs of their ministries and bring forth needed projects to help in the betterment of the nation. Some ministries will find this easier then others I do admit. These projects are to require the services of citizens and their skills to complete. These projects should attempt to bring various citizens into the inner workings of the ministries if possible.
To assist in finding talent for these projects, ministers are to pay for the services. Each minister shall go before the Landsraad and request a sum of money to be transferred from the Imperial Treasury into an account for their ministry.
The following accounts and sums already exist in the system:
MiniEx 3650.00
Ministry of Information 585.00
MoMA Imperial Defence 464.80
Imperial Judex 0.00
The Landsraad has the following at this time, which includes only a small amount of the current taxes owed:
Shirithian Imperial Treasury 12641.23
The ministers may pay themselves a modest salary from the amount requested from the Landsraad.
The Landsraad is also requested, in this budget, to allocate funds to pay the Imperial Arbiter, Assistant Arbiter(if there is one), and the Praetor of the Landsraad.
I remind the Landsraad we need enough remaining to give bounties (which could be worked into the budget), and give money to new citizens. (at 2k erb each we can afford 6 new cits at the moment)
It is my hope that this will not become a one time occurrence, and that the Landsraad shall pass, a budget on a recurring basis.
Some ideas I had for some minstries:
MiniInt commission/pay those involved with developing alternate forum schemes.
MiniInfo Wiki articles (I know, you already do this).
MiniImNat maybe someone to compile old census info. (this is where Ari and I disagree on the Census)
MiniEx hire someone to go through our various treaties and sort them out, figure out what is still active and what isn't. Maybe have all ambassadors write reports on their nations. Pay the SC rep.
MoMA ..okey.. I got no idea I admit.
MiniTrade hire someone to sort out the accounts in the bank so that everyone is in the right subdivision. (They would need to be trusted as it would require them to have access to a National account)
I would love more/better ideas.
Oh and someone give Harvey a bounty for trying to do various things that didn't work, but were worth the effort and time. (don't hate me Harvey!)

Malarbor has become the Puppet Kaiser.

I assume the representative will be payed less then the ambassadors who write the reports (and do a lot of work by doing so)? I ask this because outr of experiance, I know that people often pay more to those with a nifty title then those who did most of the work.Maybe have all ambassadors write reports on their nations. Pay the SC rep.
Is this job still vacant? If it is, I'm interested...MiniTrade hire someone to sort out the accounts in the bank so that everyone is in the right subdivision. (They would need to be trusted as it would require them to have access to a National account)
From a distance I'm concerned about the rampant lawyerism manifesting itself in Shireroth currently. A simple Kaiserial slap on the wrist or censure by the community should suffice. - Jacobus Loki

Isn't Andreas MiniTrade? If not.. I would be willing to start looking at Candidates for the job.
But the MiniEx can choose how to pay the Ambassadors and the SC Rep.

I am indeed MiniTrade. Jonas, you can have the job. I'll give your account the necessary privileges (temporarily).
The character Andreas the Wise is on indefinite leave.
However, this account still manages:
Cla'Udi - Count of Melangia
Manuel - CEO of VBNC. For all you'll ever need.
Vincent Waldgrave - Lord General of Gralus
Q - Director of SAMIN
Duke Mel'Kat - Air Pirate, Melangian, and Duke of the Flying Duchy of Glanurchy
And references may be made to Vur'Alm Xei'Bôn (a Nelagan Micron of undisclosed purpose).

Eh, I don't doubt Erik wouldn't have the patience to wait for his actual next kaisership, but he *has* asked about everything he's done so far in the IAC, and I have given my vague approval so it's all goodJonas wrote:Malarbor has become the Puppet Kaiser.
Well, one thing I still do disagree about is the "modest" bit. We're not nearly big enough a nation to have ministers whose job is to go around hiring people to do stuff - most of the work a ministry does comes straight from the minister. Payments should be allocated appropriately. But, that can be dealt with the next time someone actually goes around and allocates bounties and such.
Also, having been called out several times on assigning far too much of the blame/credit of toppling the Leto kaisership on Harvey, I refuse to be the one to assign a bounty for him for the things he's done lately that haven't worked out the way he intended. But, hey, if someone else has ideas for an appropriate bounty, I hear you! (I briefly considered an award rather than a bounty, but one from me would kinda be inappropriate)

Okey.. then not so modest... *shrug*
I'm gonna assume no ministers have even really thought about this as I haven't seen any requests for cash from the Landsraad.

I'm waiting for the Praetorship election before I submit a request from the Judex.

Re: Steward Decree #440: Budget.
Fair enough. I'll get angsty after that time then...
Re: Steward Decree #440: Budget.
Seeing as how I already have some cash in the MiniEx account, I don't see a reason to grab some more. Also, no one has responded to my plea for laziness in the Employment Office. Angst.

Then just let the Landsraad know you don't need any cash when the budget is being worked on.
