I've stated my position pretty clear, and you can read what I'm trying to do in my proposed amendments.

But Erik still has a point. If you think too many people can vote in the Landsraad, try to convince Dukes to not give out their votes to people. The dukes that DO give barons and counts do so under their own free will, under no obligation of law, to make people in their territory happy. Not sure why you'd want to interfere with that.

In fact, you should refuse to vote in this very thread to make a strong statement about non-dukes not being allowed to vote. :)

I'm going to think about this a little more, but until I do, Straylight votes NAY (10) on this bill, on the grounds that both Erik and Harvey oppose it, and the two of them agree on things rarely enough that anything that both of them dislike must be dislikeable in a very wide range of ways.

I can fully appreciate where this proposal is coming from, but the more I think about it, the less I like it. As others have said, I think this issue has more to do with the dukes than it does the lesser nobles. If the latter aren't doing their job, then their respective dukes should either get on their case about it, or fire them. Forcing all the responsibility of the Landsraad on the shoulders of the dukes alone is not solving the issue, it's bypassing it.

I didn't even mind reading most of these posts because I feel so strongly about this issue. I might catch some crap for this but Kildare(10) votes NAY!

The current voting laws allow for a great deal of customization and make things much more interesting. The old system that some people seem to want to revert to was bland and boring. It was...how should i say...sh%$#y. I think things are pefectly fine the way they are. You've probably just run out of things to change so you start changing what was changed in the first place for the hell of it.

I fully support this bill, even though I would lose my votes here.

Greater Lakhesis (2) - AYE!!!
And yet the majority of nays have been from the Dukes. :D
We might as well wrap this up, we already know how this is going to turn out... :p
