Call for a Steward's Election

[Daniel Farewell]

Brookshire hereby calls for an election of the position of Steward, provided that the Kaiser accepts the outcome of the election.

Charter, Article 1, Section E:d

The Landsraad may elect a Steward at anytime it feels one is necessary, with the approval of the Kaiser.

As worded by the Kaiser, the time for nominations went out several days ago, which since the Kaiser has not taken initiative to appoint himself a steward, therefore, forcing the Landsraad to nominate one candidate before His Majesty.

The candidates are, I believe:

Erik Mortis, Earl of Dolor
Malliki Tosha, Baron of Lakhesis

First of all, Lady Isabelle is not a candidate. Second, she would have to resign as Praetor to become Steward.

If we, the Landraad, are invoking our right to elect a Steward as we see fit, then we should not take the Kaiser's topic of nominations as the be-all, end-all list of candidates that can run. The only reason I see a vote for Lady Isabelle as being invalid at this point is because Lady Isabelle has not herself either announced an intention to run for this position nor confirmed a nomination of another.

Constitutionally correct as you are, Harvey, I am quite happy with the position of Praetor. I refuse Leo's nomination for Steward.

There is no provision regarding elections anywhere that I can find. So I would just go with the normal procedure for a bill.

Since we've already started with the numbered votes, we'll keep it. If Malliki were still a Duke and you were a Baron I would object, but since you're on equal footing, I don't see a problem.
