To further meritocratic rule, any person who desires to hold a position in this Barony, commoner or noble, must pass a certain exam. This exam will soon be created.
The Exam will test knowledge of the following:
1. Poetry or Theater (ability to write creatively)
2. Writing a convincing essay on a historical or political question
3. Knowledge of Classics (a list of literature will be given)
4. Questions on History and Politics
5. Questions on the Sciences and Basic Mathematics
6. Knowledge of Basic Military Issues
7. Knowledge of Cultural Issues, Basic Philosophy
8. Ability to do something artistic- music, building, designing a website, calligraphy, painting, etc.
*Questions will be drawn from both micro and macro national realms.
*Depending on how well one does, one will be ranked and given responsibilities befitting to his or her rank.
Hence, this exam will be known as the Eight-Part Public Service Exam.

I am torn between admiration of your pursuit of excellence in your subordinates, and total disbelief that you would expect this to have any effect besides convincing people to go to other Baronies with other rulers.

This won't be implemented actually. Maybe we'll just make it a voluntary part of a trivia contest.
