Imperial Decree #375: DecreeBook Cleanup Decree

Post by Kaiseress Anandja I »

To all Shirerithians, greetings!

Please do not pay much attention to this decree. It is one of those decrees that you have to do to edit the DecreeBook. There is some stuff in there that do not have to be there, or should not be there. All deletions are marked with italics. Amendments are marked with bold text.

I do not agree with DB, II, C, 3, a. Praetor should be before Ministers of Interior and Exterior. The status of the Praetor is as a representative of the entire Landsraad, and in such situations, would be acting as the Landsraad in the chain of command.

The Ministry of Exterior in such situations is a minor official with no relevant authority. And while the Minister of Interior is important in emergencies, he does not have authority before that of the Landsraad.

And the duke of Yardistan should be left in because if we get that far down the chain of command, they have proly taken over already anyways, and because it's a silly tradition kinda issue.

OH and.

"2. The Household Account is subject to audit by the Arbiter." Makes no sense what so ever. The Household Account is there for the Kaiser to do as he pleases. To make it subject to audit by the Arbiter has no point, especially since it's in the Decreebook.

The Charter is there to restrict the Kaiser
The Decreebook is there to restrict the Landsraad
The Lawbook is there to cover everyone else.

So putting that in the Decreebook is useless. And I wouldn't suggest trying to put that in the charter.

The point is that it is supposed to be under the supervision of the Arbiter, at least if I read the LawBook correctly. If not, so be it. The DecreeBook is there to bind the Kaiser as well. You yourself has said that the Kaiser has to adhere to the DecreeBook.

And please Erik, don't lecture me. :no

Adhere, is preferred, but the Decreebook has no real authority over the Kaiser.

I know, but I choose to adhere to it and put stuff there that the Kaiser should adhere to.

My point is the Kaiser doesn't have to. and in this case, should not adhere to. The House Account is the Kaiser personal funds, what authority or reason does the Arbiter have to audit this account?
