Consideration of the Actions of the Count of Hyperborea

It is apparent that Scott, Count of Hyperborea, did instigate a rebellion against our person as the legitimately appointed Duke of Elwynn. Such rebellions are permitted by the law, providing that they have our consent. On this occasion, consent was neither sought nor granted, so the rebellion was prohibited by the law.

It is our opinion that Count Scott should apologise to this Council for his actions and pay homage as described in Decree XXIII. It is further our opinion that the extinguishmemt of his former position of Baron of Kai-Raikoth during the rebellion constitutes a fair and equitable penalty for instigating a prohibited rebellion and that then this matter shall be considered closed.

The opinion of Araxion and Elwynn is that the Count of Hyperborea did what others would or could not: namely, deposing an inactive Duke who failed to fulfill his duty to his own people. Scott acted rightly and justly, and has Elwynn's full support.

Baron Loki cannot claim to speak for all of Elwynn, and he certainly does not speak for Iserdia. It is Iserdia's opinion that the Count of Hyperborea broke the law when commencing his rebellion as he did, and, given that he was also a Baron at that time, his actions were not those of a nobleman. He did not obtain the required consent, nor did he seemingly explore the other legal options that were available to him to achieve the same ends. In not doing so, he acted neither rightly nor justly, and therefore Iserdia's opinion is in favour of this consideration.
