Taxes

Post by Andreas the Wise »

Yes, at the end of the month. New laws and all that.

On that note - people want to start proposing things to be bountified for? (at the start of the month)

I keep forgetting to do this. Or, I'm avoiding it. Not sure which.

Anyway, I'm new to this, but here goes, things to get paid for:

-Major edits to the Sunderspray article on the wiki: One on 3/21, and a cumulatively major edit over the course of 3/23.

-The creation of a map to go with said article.

The economy or everything?

The economy is a lot like Novatainia's, except you don't get money for posting. You register an account in ShireBank (see link under Malarbor), and you get paid by the government for doing cultural things. You can then spend the money on whatever. SCIRA is our equivalent of CITRA, but without the "constant" bit. Business laws are a lot easier, you can't buy property, and you can form a guild to limit the competition (ie only guild members can charge for the guild service, like being a lawyer). Oh, and tax is like Novatainia but higher tax rates, as you don't make as much money as quickly as in Novatainia.

If it's writing your good at, here are some opportunities that will be arriving officially in the nest few days:

ShireWiki- I'll be posting a VERY large list of all the pages that need to be improved or written on the wiki. Each will have a bounty attached to it.

SSHIT- The Standardized Shirithian History Initiative Team. Pretty much ALL writing. The organization creates a standard version of Shireroth's fictional history. Lots of fun, plus money if you write something decent. See Shyriath and the forum for details.

University- I don't know if you like teaching, but you could teach a course at Sir John Meltzer III University and earn some money.

Be sure to check the Ministry of Information forum during the next few days for some major opportunities!

And welcome to Shireroth. :)

i might consider teaching something...though my older peers on here would be more qualified in any topic i should pick most likely
the one problem with the writing is not having the full previous background knowledge of what already exists, though hopefully i'll be able to read up on that soon when i have the time
i never felt adequate enough to add to Novatainias stuff actively, i did small parts in expeditions
and i was just too lazy on Toketi (plus we dont really do much of that there that i know of) i have the rough draft of the first Chapter of my personal history done, but i need to edit it alot

@Korey: yes, yes you should

We shouldn't charge taxes.

We really shouldn't charge taxes.

We really really shouldn't charge taxes.

Taxes detract from my personal wealth, and therefore for from all of Shireroth. Logical fallacies do not apply to the Finnish.
