Welcome to this week's episode of Constitutional Crisis! Our contestants are: in this corner, Kaiser Reynardine I, who wants the Jacobus Amendments to the Charter revoked and is prepared to use the full power of the Golden Mango Throne to get it. And in this corner, Dutch Jonas of Kildare, who refuses to give Reynardine his permission as Praetor to revoke the amendments. The winner will receive a shiny new refridgerator and control over the future of Shireroth's vote-based economy!
Reynardine started with a bold gambit of dissolving the Landsraad to pressure them to elect a new Praetor, but Dutch Jonas got the last laugh when it was discovered that without a functioning Landsraad, he could not be replaced. Now, the Landsraad is back in session and opponents of the Dutch are closing in for the kill with their plot to replace Praetor Jonas with Erik of Brookshire. It is time for every Duke and Duchy to decide on whose side they stand in the coming legislative Armaggedon.
If you enjoy Constitutional Crisis!, be sure to stay tuned for next season's Constitutional Crisis: Gabon where the heads of our branches of government must work out a compromise on legislative sessions while avoiding giant spiders, crippling heat, and snakes the size of grown men. Meanwhile...
In Yardistan, the Treaty of Musica leasing the city of Musica to Brookshire is about to run out. Baron Jess of the United Isles wants Musica back, but Duke Mike Fors of Brookshire is a native Musican and is prepared to use all his considerable legal skills to keep it. Will the city of Musica be burnt to the ground before the matter is resolved? Signs point to YES!

Well, first, I didn't dissolve the Landsraad to pressure them for the removal of the Prætor. I dissolved them so I could have some time to think about what needed to be done without the rampant bickering about the voting procedures that was plaguing the nation for days. Also, I'm not much one for bureaucracy. If someone had brought legislation to me in that time, I probably would have decreed it.
