Let's do this again: Duchy and barony capitals

Post by Ari Rahikkala »

I need to know which cities should be listed as which kind of capitals for the map consistency project. Here's the list I gathered last time, updated for changes since then:

Brookshire: Brookshire Hamlet
Dolor: Cercé
K'Tzuni: Brookshire Hamlet
Lakhesis: Musica
Vorpmadal: Lune Villa
Ynnraile: Avakair

Froyalan: Eliria
Opplysta Smørvirket: Glenfiddich
The Elw: Eliria
Fórntida Kærleikalanden: Unknown

Kildare: Blackrock Nua
Atterock: Sakatra
Antya: Hallucigrad (I think so anyway)
Lumina's Light: Nigrad

Yardistan: Novi Nigrad
United Isles: Unknown
Absentia: Corrigible

Straylight: Discontinuity (not on the map)
Cosac: Discontinuity
Pohjanvälke: McCallavreding my actually postingwriting and posting the story of the foundation of these baronies...)

Jess or Prodigy, I would appreciate it if you chose a capital (or if you have done that and I just missed it, report the choice to me) for BotUI.

Scott or Ric, you know what you need to do in Elwynn.

Everyone else, please check the list and tell me if the capitals are all correct.

Antya: Hallucigrad (I think so anyway)
But Hallucigrad is in the Barony of Lumina's Light... Blackrock Nua is also the capital of the Barony of Antya, but I'm thinking about moving my Baronial capital to Apollo City (but I will wait before doing that, first the war needs to be over :p ).

Why not do it as part of the Recwar? "Duke flees capital for ancient territory in East!" :thumbsup
Vilhelm von Benkern - The Dolphin-...Count
:: Formerly just "benkern"
:: Rook Sentry of the Order of the Vorpal Blade
:: Count of Mar Sara IIRC
:: Former Baron of Absentia AFAIK, before that Baron of Vorpmadal TBH; also Former Duke of Yardistan IMHO
:: Dux Emeritus of the Order of Mischievous Intent

It takes moo to mango!

Because Apollo City is a ruin and Blackrock Nua has huge walls and defences. :p

OK... so that makes Kildare...

Kildare: Blackrock Nua
Atterock: Sakatra
Antya: Blackrock Nua (but will be moved to Apollo City in time)
Lumina's Light: Lukedugrad

Brookshire Hamlet: Correct.
Though I very well may rename it sometime. Brookshire Hamlet is a bit dull.

For one: the regional capital of Absentia is (or should be if it isn't, which I'm not sure of) should be Serovopolis, egotistical bastard that I am. :p

For two: unless Jess proves me otherwise, it seems the regional capital of the United Isles is Nordagaat... that might just be AMASS, though.

The Capital of the Barony of Fórntida Kærleikalanden is Avaldsnes.

*sigh* I made it Nigrad on my map (with regional capital symbols and all that ...) ... guess I better change it ...
The character Andreas the Wise is on indefinite leave.
However, this account still manages:
Cla'Udi - Count of Melangia
Manuel - CEO of VBNC. For all you'll ever need.
Vincent Waldgrave - Lord General of Gralus
Q - Director of SAMIN
Duke Mel'Kat - Air Pirate, Melangian, and Duke of the Flying Duchy of Glanurchy

And references may be made to Vur'Alm Xei'Bôn (a Nelagan Micron of undisclosed purpose).

The capital of Lakhesis should be listed as "City of Musica" or "Musica City". I would also like to add that the capital moves one day per year to Fatehpur Sikri. Guess what day...

You re messing with THE Game, Andreas! :no

(The Kildarian game... I placed Lukedugrad in it because it was the capital)

OK, so, what I will be working off of (still waiting on Elwynn though - I heard from Corey that Ric's home, though, so I have hope I won't have to wait for long):

Brookshire: Brookshire Hamlet
Dolor: Cercé
K'Tzuni: Brookshire Hamlet
Lakhesis: Musica
Vorpmadal: Lune Villa
Ynnraile: Avakair

Elwynn: Eliria
Eliria (or Eliria and Utasia?):
Iserdia (or Iseirdia?):
Nordland: Avaldsnes
Kai-Raikoth:

Kildare: Blackrock Nua
Atterock: Sakatra
Antya: Blackrock Nua
Lumina's Light: Lukedugrad

Yardistan: Novi Nigrad
United Isles: Nordagaat
Absentia: Serovopolis

Straylight: Discontinuity
Cosac: Discontinuity
Pohjanvälke: McCallavre

We seem to have a lot of cities that serve as both a duchal and a baronial capital... but that's quite realistic and neat AFAIK...

The capital of Kai-Raikoth is Tala, which is on the MCS map under its own name as Thule and which I'm not changing because it's the oldest city on the MCS.
I'd be surprised if the capital of Iseirdia was anything but Glenfiddich.
