Thanks are in order!

Post by Gman Russell »

I feel I should thank everyone for their love and support during my family (and PC) crisis, and explain a little better what happened.

First, special thanks to Carol for rockin' out the support on AIM (Say a prayer!).

Second, special thanks go to Benkern for sticking up for me in the Diet. I sha'nt kill you in my next rebellion.

Edit: Thirdly, to Prodigy as well. :)

Well, it started with my Grandma passing out in her apartment, and then she allmost died at the ER. Scary, but she's ok now. Then my dad got really sick (his Thyroid shut down), and was out of work for a long time because he couldnt get up out of his chair. He's still suffering, but modern medicine is wonderfull. We allmost didn't make it with the bills, but we pulled through by tightening our belts so to speak and working overtime.

Then my Computer broke. But after a long and drawn out battle with the forces of evil (and with a complete reformatting), its back to normal.

And thats my story. Again, thanks for the kind words and thoughts everyone. :thumbsup

Didn't the state pay in your place? :o
From a distance I'm concerned about the rampant lawyerism manifesting itself in Shireroth currently. A simple Kaiserial slap on the wrist or censure by the community should suffice. - Jacobus Loki

Jonas,

Like most other countries in the developing world*, The US does not have universal healthcare. Instead, the United States invests all of its efforts and income into the top 2% of its population, to dole out in crumbs to the remainder of the people for entertainment purposes. This was decided back when the United States was a capitalist state, before the feds decided to paid out billions to the brokerage firms. Which means, the average American has to spend their own money just to stay healthy even with extortionate health insurance premiums.

(Incidentally, if it weren't for the fact that I would go to jail for it, I'd send people the medicine they need but can't afford in the states)

*except for Brunei, China, Cuba, India, Kuwait, Qatar, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, South Korea, Seychelles, Sri Lanka, Taiwan and Thailand which all have universal health care.

I was about to say "Hey, Australia has Medicare" but then noted you only said "developing countries." Australia's developed. :p
The character Andreas the Wise is on indefinite leave.
However, this account still manages:
Cla'Udi - Count of Melangia
Manuel - CEO of VBNC. For all you'll ever need.
Vincent Waldgrave - Lord General of Gralus
Q - Director of SAMIN
Duke Mel'Kat - Air Pirate, Melangian, and Duke of the Flying Duchy of Glanurchy

And references may be made to Vur'Alm Xei'Bôn (a Nelagan Micron of undisclosed purpose).
