Actually, that's not a joke. The question is, what would the MiniInfo do? Here's a couple of suggestions...
- handle cartography. At the moment that field's pretty much every-noble-to-their-own. There are some fun problems that I think we need a minister to handle; for instance, the policy of which cities are marked as which kind of capitals on the MCS map. (my current opinion on this, after learning about MCS policies from Andreas, is that duchal capitals should be administrative capitals, and the MiniInfo should decide on regional capitals on a case-by-case basis but preferring baronial capitals)
- register LOAs. Well, this could be done at the Registrar, too. The point is to have *somewhere* to do it so we don't get some people announcing LOAs in their home counties and others in the kaiser's court or something.
- handle the university, perhaps implementing some of Hesam's ideas regarding educating people for jobs. (I certainly could give a course on the MiniInt - not that I intend to leave any time soon, but there *are* complexities in forum administration that I'd prefer someone else in Shireroth knew too just for the sake of security)
- watch the wiki to ensure correctness and quality of information, grammar, spelling, and layout, etc.
That's a bit of a mixed bag, yeah. A "traditionalistic" MiniInt would really just handle the last job (and maybe indeed we would be able to convince someone to take that up as a duty). But I like having a MiniInfo around who actually does stuff visibly, and these *are* things that *someone* should do and have the duty to do around here.
