Still thinking about ignoring this whole frickin' thing.
Anyone care to explain how this works to me, or point out a thread that does?
What follows has lead me to this place where I belong, with all erased.

You have money. That money is added to the money of all the other people in your Duchy, and that's the strength (weighting) of your Duke's vote in the Landsraad. This means there is an actual point to getting more money (make Yardistan stronger in the Landsraad). Tax is a rather informal "tax the Duke 2000 every so often" and we let the Duke sort out how he gets the money off his subjects ...
