Erik, as much as you despise the spectre of authority that hangs around you despite your desire to live the commoner's life, it isn't going to go away and I'm not doing this without Brookshire behind me. You may rest easy and consider my plan scuppered, and my Ducal tenure well and truly castrated for the enirety of its duration.

My march into Niyazov-dom is what killed Zemlya, and I have no intention of doing it again here. Brookshire's not mine to kill, after all.

The matter is closed.
The barony matter may be closed. But hold on a dog damn minute... What are you talking aoubt.. castrated. I'm pleased that things are being tweaked, but I don't like how this went down. This is the 2nd time I've "Castrated" a duke of Brookshire apparently. And over the same issue. I'm kinda confused how I've done this. Am I winning on the merits of my argument, or simply because I'm Erik and I said more then just "I object".. or was that enough? I'd like to think I'm just putting forth a logical...ish argument as to why it should not be changed. Instead I get resignal comments from Dukes and a sense that I lost by winning.

*bitter* Should I just become Duke again?

Regardless of your history, the fact the neither of my two fellow active Brookshireans were keen on the idea was enough to make me seriously doubt the value of continuing. It was on top of that, having the more empassioned of the protests coming from someone with such gravitas as yourself (legitimately, I might add - I had no idea the current Baronial setup was your own idea) which put the final nail in the coffin.

As for the castration... I meant it in the sense that my own judgement and actions from here onward aren't necessarily going to be trusted as much, forcing me to proceed with greater caution and limiting what I can do. That may well be a good thing, though.

Your unfortunate position as the "Phantom Duke" doesn't put a stranglehold on my tenure, I can assure you of that. It does however provide the make-or-break factor in certain places and certain times (of which the endgame in my Baronial debacle was one). It's just something you'll have to live with; having the most personal investment and legacy in Brookshire will naturally give you a certain 'ownership' factor.

As for your becoming Duke again, that hinges on whether or not you want to retain the commoner's life or not. But if you want the Kaisership I'm guessing you're ready for a return to the halls of power. Let's just say when I'm done with my Dukedom (whenever that may be) bring your best suit and an acceptance speech ;)

:: Rook Sentry of the Order of the Vorpal Blade
:: Count of Mar Sara IIRC
:: Former Baron of Absentia AFAIK, before that Baron of Vorpmadal TBH; also Former Duke of Yardistan IMHO
:: Dux Emeritus of the Order of Mischievous Intent

It takes moo to mango!

I can just skip being Duke for Kaiser. It's been done before.
