To appear serious, but actually meaning the opposite - most of the time. Usually followed up by the 'piss taker' (the one who joked) revealing he/she was only joking.
'Hey did I ever tell you you're fucking pug ugly?'

'No you didn't and that hurt'

'I'm only taking the piss. You fucking filthy mongoloid.'

We've got that too. But wow, you guys don't use "taking the piss"? It's a great little phrase.

I feel sorry for foreign folk coming over here and not realising that "this is bollocks" and "this is the bollocks" have exact opposite meanings... ;)

We have an expression, "skitgott", which means that something is really tasty. It literally means "shit good".

Canadian and American English lack subtlety. Everything you can say means exactly what it sounds like it means. We have no lingual sarcasm.

This stems from the fact that Britons are notoriously untrustworthy whereas it took honest workers to forge a continent.

The East part of my town is the Ghettos and Gang ridden, its nasty because it always get flooded and you can buy a house for $5,000. The man who killed President Garfield is from our town BTW.

I don't like those names, I want the old ones back. But we could create department in the ministries. That's an idea I like. :)
From a distance I'm concerned about the rampant lawyerism manifesting itself in Shireroth currently. A simple Kaiserial slap on the wrist or censure by the community should suffice. - Jacobus Loki

With all due respect to the Departed, i'm of a mind to repeal this and save a lot of paperwork.

Thoughts?

Carol,

There is an etemology to this:

1. "That is good"
2. "That is what I mean"
3. "That's the proper way"
4. "That's Proper" (approval)
5. "Thats what I'm talking about"
6. "That's the shit I'm talking about"
7. "That's the shit, right there." (reference)
8. "That stuff is the shit"
9. "That's the shit"
10. "The Shit"
11. "He's/She's/It's/ The Shit"
12. "Da Shit"
13. "Datz da shit"
14. "You da shit son"

No problem. I figured it might disuade you from dismantling the economic system. Also, consider it payment for us trying to thwart your evil rise to power with our own evil rise to power.

I'm a sort of an "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" kind of guy. A number of people are having fun with it, so? :)

I'm still giving it away, but it fits with the Maundy money ideal.
