Happy Apollo Day!

Post by b3n|<3r|\| »

Today (6th August) marks the day the Apollo Sector was founded in 1999. It is the day from which we count ASC dates. On this date, Audentior was founded for the first time way back when. We still have some of its original members with us.

Though many of us don't think about anything from before the GC, really, without Audentior, there would have been no Shireroth, no MCS, a far reduced online micronational presence that would have prolly gone in a different direction. It is certainly an important date in micronational history. (Note that Babkha would have, funnily enough, still have existed and flourished without Audentior :evil)

:: Formerly just "benkern"
:: Rook Sentry of the Order of the Vorpal Blade
:: Count of Mar Sara IIRC
:: Former Baron of Absentia AFAIK, before that Baron of Vorpmadal TBH; also Former Duke of Yardistan IMHO
:: Dux Emeritus of the Order of Mischievous Intent

It takes moo to mango!

In August of 1999 I was on holiday in the fine English county of Devon. At home I was on 56k dialup with AOL and I'd never even heard of micronations.

To think I was missing out on all that Apollonian action... :(

Apollo Day! :party :party
From a distance I'm concerned about the rampant lawyerism manifesting itself in Shireroth currently. A simple Kaiserial slap on the wrist or censure by the community should suffice. - Jacobus Loki

Even if it's not that any other day... and even if I have to shoot Erik to be able to say this...

Today, Shireroth is an Apollo nation!

The proximity of Founder's Day to Apollo Day must have cosmic significance.
