Governmental Structure

Post by b3n|<3r|\| »

It's become something of a hobby of mine to draw out political/governmental systems in a standardised way as an image. I find it makes it much easier to understand. Ridiculously complex governments have always fascinated me, but the image transferral began when I first read up on Iran's. I didn't understand. So I put each of the institutions in a box in paint and moved them around. Then I started to link them up with arrows. I then coloured the arrows and put a key on there. And there we go. Later I added descriptions of the institutions when it became clear that I couldn't remember the difference between the Guardian Council and the Assembly of Experts, and that it was prudent given some organisations did more than just appoint other organisations. Et voila.

Anyway, I've done Shireroth's. I think it's accurate. Please point out any inaccuracies. I think it could go on the Wiki as a guide. Without further ado:

:: Rook Sentry of the Order of the Vorpal Blade

:: Former Baron of Absentia AFAIK, before that Baron of Vorpmadal TBH; also Former Duke of Yardistan IMHO
:: Dux Emeritus of the Order of Mischievous Intent

It takes moo to mango!

Good stuff. You just need to draw a line indicating that the Kaiser can (and has) appoint the Steward.

Follow the red line emitting from the right of the Kaiser's box and notice it splits into three further lines at a junction, one of which arrives at the Steward shortly after. :)

It's very good! And easy to understand! :)
From a distance I'm concerned about the rampant lawyerism manifesting itself in Shireroth currently. A simple Kaiserial slap on the wrist or censure by the community should suffice. - Jacobus Loki

Looks correct and easy-to-follow to me. I agree it should go in the Wiki.

The Landsraad CAN and has appointed ministers in the past. Actually used to be how it was done half the time.

You can also remove the arrow for "Vets candidates for" from the key. Left over from the Iran chart, I suppose.

I'm hopeful one day Shireroth will have as much candidate vetting as Iran, but for now I suppose you're right there Mike. :p

Updated with the Landsraad's Ministry-appointing powers...
