Indeed. That's what Yardistan is for.
Vilhelm von Benkern - The Dolphin-...Count
:: Formerly just "benkern"
:: Rook Sentry of the Order of the Vorpal Blade
:: Count of Mar Sara IIRC
:: Former Baron of Absentia AFAIK, before that Baron of Vorpmadal TBH; also Former Duke of Yardistan IMHO
:: Dux Emeritus of the Order of Mischievous Intent
It takes moo to mango!

What do you think? That I will demand forming a democratic governement because of this incident?Mike Fors wrote:The Kaiser's word is law, even if some people don't agree. You can't agree to this form of government and then say "oh no you don't" when the autocrat does something you dislike. Rebel instead.
Hasan can't change anything anymore, he is death. But I'm curious why Jacobus doesn't get the job after all this time.
Of course I will rebel!

Re: The Death of a Kaiser
*sigh*
I will accept Andelarion as Kaiser, as is my duty, but it is still quite unnerving that an agreement (from the gods) was broken for such an unusual appointment (no offense to Andelarion and Harald).

Of course I will listen to the Kaiser after the rebellion. But I will not trust the Kaiser anymore, there promises seems to be empy.

Let your stomach be tranquil.
Loki is Kaiser.
The Gods Themselves stood witness to the arrangement by which Hasan ascended th Golden Mango Throne.
I call the Gods to witness my right! (and my left, front, back....)
No ill will to Ric, he is a good fellow, but the country needs to be brought back to its traditions.

Re: The Death of a Kaiser
My explanation.
They say dead men cannot speak, but the fortune of our situation is that this is a game (everyone please remember that).
Let me ask a number of questions which are pertinent to my reason:
1. Why was Ardashir not made Steward?
2. Why was Jacobus not made Kaiser?
3. Why was I killed?
Can Jacobus truely say he had nothing to do with my assasination?
So why Ric?
Because Jonas just would have abdicated in favour of Jacobus,
Andreas has a second citizenship,
Jess is prone to emotional posts,
Erik doesn't want to be Kaiser (and neither do Ari or Scott),
Carol has been Kaiser before,
Benkern is Babkhan
as well, and I'm not really familiar with the rest of Shireroth that well (such is a downfall of my reign).
Ric, who's a veteran Shirerithian, and experienced leader, previous Duke was in my mind, a logical choice as a bridge builder.
I would have picked Harald, but he declined it, and frankly in retrospect, may have changed Shireroth into too much of a Nordic theme. None the less, he always supported me and my endeavours and lost greatly during the war. When others opposed that he be given any sort of cut of Bosworth, it left him in the lurch. As such, I believe he is capable and owed it.
Ardashir was bitter about Elywnn (after Scott suggested I become Duke, not for unselfish reasons) and essentially threatened to coup against me unless we cut a deal in terms of inheritance. I know Ardashir well, and he is very capable, but I doubted very much that I would have stayed Duke for very long if he had become Steward, especially under Loki. A specific agreement which all of you should ask them about.
And my return to Babkha? It remains as dead as it was when I left it. What is there to return to? Questioning the same motives which were disproven months ago..tisk tisk.

Re: The Death of a Kaiser
I offered to support you in the re-vitalization of your reign. Do not deny it. I offered you the support that would most likely have saved you.
Promises were made, witnessed to by the Gods Themselves. If a Kaiser makes promises at the start of his reign that he ignores at is end, woe unto him.
Other nations may function in such a manner, but at the core of Shireroth is honor and faithfulness.
Hasan should have gone down in history as Hasan the Liberator. His sobriquet will most likely be something else now.

Mike, and others who were not about then:
I order to prevent Civil War on the accession of Kaiser Hasan, which was of questionable legality at the time, I was promised the succesion after him. The Gods witnessed this sacred covenant.
I claim the Golden Mango Throne by that right.

He was describing actions undertaken in the past - at the accession of Kaiser Hasan. But you can still tell Commander Zirk to put the nukes away unless he wants to be skewered by a gravship.I order to prevent Civil War on the accession of Kaiser Hasan, which was of questionable legality at the time, I was promised the succesion after him. Re: The Death of a Kaiser
I advised that you should become Baron of the Elw, if you're referring to the rp-ing thread. I advised that because Ric wasn't around at the time the rp-ing thread happened. There was a mention that some day you might become Duke, but you'll notice it was phrased more as a dream than as a suggestion. And political dealings? this is still a micronation correct? And Scott, you even "advised" that I should become Duke of Elwynn in retirement. Not that it wouldn't benefit hyperborea or anything. But how did you expect me to become Duke? Simply take it? Was I not repremanded for doing so with Bosworth?
I admit I'd have liked you as Duke of Elwynn, but not by bargaining away the Stewardship for your own advancement. I don't know how I was expecting you to get it - I never actually recommended anything concrete. Convincing Harald you were the right man for the job, or just decreeing it as Kaiser (we were angry about Bosworth because you were messing with other countries), or negotiating with Harald some other way, or just plain starting a rebellion (you know Ardy and I would have supported you) - but not like this.

Jacobus, while you were offering to "assist" me, you were plotting against me. Deny it if you like, but thats the fact.
Regardless, unless this is opposed by the "gods" it basically means that if Jacobus becomes Kaiser, Shireroth has no respect for its own rule of law.

I deny it.
I would have supported you. If you deny it, I pity your sense of honor.
I had a few hypothetical discussions about what a post-Hasan Shireroth might look like, esp. since it was understood that I would succeed.
This from Mr. Twist-the-Law-on-its-Head? !
Why am I disputing with a dead guy? Why not change the log-in, do your Duchy, and "live" with it? C'mon now, SMILE!

Hypothetical posts? I never gave up the Duchy, that was never awarded to anyone. I suppose you could also take that way, but won't it look odd when you hand it to Ardashir? Would almost look like I was telling the truth wouldn't it?

I'm not asking you to give up your Duchy, I'm asking you to stop posting as Kaiser if you are dead.

Well, since your the Ghost, what kind of funeral would you like?
