Shirerithian Himalayan Expedition
I am going to try to plant the Shirerithian (and possibly Hyperborean) flags on Mt. Everest.
I'll be away for the next two weeks or so hiking and climbing. If I make it, I will take a picture.

That has definitely got to be the coolest thing any Shirerithian has done. Just following your travels is astounding. Flights to places we only hear of, along with your amazing pictures, has got a lot of us wishing we could go with you. Don't forget your oxygen. Safe cliimb, Scott.

Re: Shirerithian Himalayan Expedition
Bloody hell. Good luck on your ascent old boy. Oh and while you're there could you have a word with the Sherpas and see if they would be willing to acknowledge Kaiser Hesan as their ruler - I understand the Nepalese have been rather foolish and chucked out their corpulent despot of a king and aren't quite settled on who the replacement should be. An ideal vacan I think. Distribute a few rupees and mangos and see what happens...

Shirithian to Nepali -
"Do you accept Hasan of Shireroth as your King?"
Nepali smiles and nods, head, says something that MUST be positve in Nepalese.
Shirithian: "Hmmm, must mean yes. On to the next country!"
Come to think about it, isn't hat how a lot of colonialism works?

Don't think of it as colonialism so much as a liberation struggle directed against home rule.

I've only been a little past 14,000 ft, and we drove there.

The character Andreas the Wise is on indefinite leave.
However, this account still manages:
Cla'Udi - Count of Melangia
Manuel - CEO of VBNC. For all you'll ever need.
Vincent Waldgrave - Lord General of Gralus
Q - Director of SAMIN
Duke Mel'Kat - Air Pirate, Melangian, and Duke of the Flying Duchy of Glanurchy
And references may be made to Vur'Alm Xei'Bôn (a Nelagan Micron of undisclosed purpose).

I'd climb a mountain and put a flag on it...the thing is the nearest mountains are 1000 miles away

Re: Shirerithian Himalayan Expedition
I am pleased to report that this expedition was a success.
I climbed Kala Pattar (height 18,000 feet) and reached Everest Base Camp (17,000 feet). The Shirerithian expedition beat a Malaysian government expedition by attempting the same feat by one day.
I also planted the Shirerithian flag at Gorak Shep (15,000 feet) and inspected a famous supposed yeti head (the results will be published in the John Metzler Journal of Cryptozoology)
For some reason my picture of the Shireroth flag isn't working right now. I'm going to try to reupload it later.
You can see more pictures and information at http://squid314.livejournal.com/225057.htm
