I come bearing a message from Malarbor!

He says: "Make the Malarbar a greater horizontal width so long messages don't take up as much vertical space! Malarbor demands it!"

Hmmm...it's a problem on some computers, but not others.

You might also want to consider replacing the link to Micronational Eye with a link to the MCS forums, since those seem to be a more happening center for international life these days.

I'm on a stubborn guest to remove as many things as I can between the top of the page and actual thread content. That's where the "Site", "Wiki" and "FAQ" links went, and that's why I pushed the links related to forum control off to the side of the Malarbar. (I might also subsume the big link to the current forum into the breadcrumb path...)

Now, these links (Unanswered posts, Active topics, etc.) would not look neat at all if they were split across several lines, so the width of the area given to them is given in ems. If they don't get split across lines on my browser, they shouldn't get split on anybody else's browser either.

Thing is, they do compete for horizontal space with the Malarbar, so if they take up a lot of space (i.e. if you're on a small screen with big fonts), all the text in the Malarbar is going to have to use a lot of vertical space instead because it's got to go in *somewhere*. Assuming we live in a perfect world of non-buggy browsers, that's the reason why the Malarbar might take wildly different amounts of space on different computers.

Anyway, I shortened the links and compacted the space given to them (by 11 ems). Hope that helps a bit.
