Shireroth

...to obtain access to my old account (Ryan)? Using Orion instead of Ryan isn't working like it did for Liam, so I might as well switch back to the old account.

My email address for this account is my active one.

Thanks.

I would've gone for "Loki Icebane", as a reference to Lac Glacei.

You know, you could always create a peripheral ranking of citizenship with no limitations, like a bare-bones version with no authority or options for progress, for those of us who like it here but do a lot of things elsewhere. *cough*cough*nudge*

It'd be like buying a hosting package. Well the ...

I imposed that limitation based on claiming empty land, not annexing other nations.

Do you want me to go smack Spangle and Pete around some?

Has Shireroth annexed Babkha yet (or vice-versa for that matter) or are you people still dragging your feet?

For any case of Tymaria I think a lobotomy is in order. :P

Anyhoo, I'm on "bought 120 year old falling apart house" LOA until further notice. That and someone poke Darius to make the Babkhan forum Safari compatible.

Aha! Found the old climate map!

Ok, so you wanted to know all about Mar Sara....

Well.... As you may know, it was founded by Thomas Hubert as the People's Republic of Mar Sara. Rather obviously, he based the country around the premise of the game StarCraft, and more specifically, around the Space Marines (Hubert's ezboard login ...

Leng was never intended to be a habitable island. In the real world we have a lot of islands that are similar. Look at the islands populating the northern regions of Canada. I always stressed climatic limitations wherever they were applicable. Yet people always seemed to find ways around those ...

Have a safe journey.

Buffalo is like a walk in the park compared to some Connecticut cities like New Britain or Bridgeport. People there tell you not even to stop your car on the highway because you'll get shot. Even in Springfield (MA) all you hear about is someone getting murdered at least once a day... I don't know ...

Several years ago I took a day trip up there on business for my former employer. I'd really like to visit again, maybe tour Niagra and then head northeast to London and then Toronto. My relatives keep asking me to come upstate (New York) and visit them near the finger lakes this summer, so we're ...

Send my congrats to the happy couple.

I'm not sure if Hypatia would remember me if I sent a card...

P.S. My wife remains suspicious of this hobby and continues to mock me for it, thank you very much.

Toronto is bloody great. The city is so clean you can eat off the sidewalks. It's nothing like Manhattan, where you can't move without getting bumped or jabbed or honked at by angry people. Don't get me wrong, NYC is great, I'm going down there again this month. But Canada is much nicer. It's just ...

The red area or the pink area?

Tapfer was the blue area on the western part of the continent. Tapfer is/was synonymous with Demesos.

The red area in the southeast is Universalis. My first micronation.

Didn't I do that image the eagle was placed on for that flag? I remember doing a bunch of design work for that...

I remember you re-did the flag because the original one I did was all grainy and since all I did was add the eagle I believe that Jason's original flag had really blurry lines (it was ...

Voltropolis?

This is quite amusing. Nonetheless it's a good/accurate example.

Voltymaria?

*hugs*

Ok, ok, so I'm a big sap....

Heh. Hubert's first Treesian flag was a credit card image minus the text. I still have it around somewhere....

I happen to like the Hyperborean flag. And I ripped the eagle off the Kazakh flag for the FIOJ.

That might actually work as a form of taxation based on number of citizenships.

Just like when you live in one state and work in another and the gov makes you do double the taxes.

I enjoy helping out the newbie nations that pop up sporadically at the MCS/MNN/et all. Revoke that bloody tri-cit law and you'd see more of an influx of citizens. I'm not the only one that's avoided joining Shireroth because of it. While it may have been a good choice back in the day, it's an ...

While I wasn't Kaiser, I did head SAVAK for 3 years while still maintaining a semblance of loyalty to Shireroth. I.E. Whenever an issue arose between the two I would act in a neutral capacity, neither providing or preventing information from either side. Usually I would simply just avoid the subject ...

I argue that while Shireroth may itself not have been founded under the precepts of being Apollo, it inherited Apollo ideals by having annexed formerly-Apollo nations and the mere fact that you had Bill, Jason, Scott, me and other Apollonians here contributing to the culture. And yes, the Apollo ...

The old Vivaldia website is still up on GeoCities. http://www.geocities.com/CapitolHill/2390/

And yes, Diga seemed a reasonable man back in the day. I really don't know what got into him. Maybe it's Gulf Syndrome...

Stromblum incorporated three other projects that I combined to establish the Principality. Originally Lorelei was known as the Kingdom of New Rhineland. I later changed the name to Lorelei, which means "of the Rhine". Edelweiss was a province I started as a citizen of Cranda, and Heathersland was a ...

I noticed this at MNN and then checked it in the Landsraad to make sure I wasn't imagining things....

Cognito, Lac Glacei, Absentia, Kloss, Loreley, the Principality of Stromblum, (encompassing the three duchies of Lorelei, Edelweiss and Heathersland), the area designated as the Freimark, Vivaldia ...

Just in case you didn't see it at the MCS; I posted this old map I made from 2004 when Absentia was independent under Captain Titov. Remember Gennady's brother, Jacobus?

Well, I'm back from California. Gotta admit I really liked it.

Redwoods rock! :thumbsup We ended up taking around 300 photos on my digital cam...

And Carol - Sorry I missed your message. We got into San Jose late anyways and didn't spend much time there after all. Hopefully I'll be back out in ...

My wife used to live in LA, so she's meeting some of her friends while we're out there too. She asked if I wanted to meet any of my friends while we were out there. Kind of a quid pro quo.

I doubt I'll be going back to California for a while after this trip. It's quite expensive.
