Re: Council: Economics
My opinions on these issues are:1) No taxes. I think that, considering both the utopian nature of our community and the anarchist tendencies of several of our citizens, it would be best to trust people to occasionally make voluntary donations, which I think they will do. Besides, I can't imagine us ...

Council: Economics
With the new economy starting up, Hyperborea has a few decisions to make. First of all, should we have taxes, or not? The Crown isn't going to pay Hyperborea any amount of money for just being here, but we can tax our own citizens if we want the money.Second, Ragum Volak has suggested we have our ...
New Baron
Yesterday, I gave Ardashir Khan a posthumous pardon for his crimes here in Elwynn. To everyone's surprise, Ardashir then rose from the dead. However, it turns out that this does not negate the pardon, and therefore, I would like you all to welcome your next Baron...Ardashir Khan!Yes, I realize we ...

Posthumous Pardon
Because Ardashir seems to have shuffled off this mortal coil, his judgment is now in the hands of a higher authority, and frankly, the higher authority is welcome to it. The case against Ardashir Osmani is hereby dropped, and arrangments for filling the Baronial seat will eventually be made.

itelemalu 31 omesena isakona 5901Baron Ardashir Khan Osmani, you are accused by your people of an attack on sacred Truth and Beauty and the principles we all hold dear. You have pillaged Elwynn's towns, raped her culture, and slain or driven off her citizens. While I respect Duchess Greenwood's ...

Mari, when you get back, I would be honored if you would stay on as Baroness of Elwynn. You would get three votes and a promise of respect and general noninterference. If Mari doesn't get back/doesn't want to stay, then David, I would like for you to be Baron under similar terms, if you are ...

Re: Volsaarn Requests a Council
My plan has been for a while to give Niirus the position of elder over the city of Midhoth, but I have been waiting until the Duchy situation is ironed out to see exactly what territories and people I have to match with one another. I apologize for my delay. As for the whole Elwynn issue, I have ...

So far as I know there's no law against Baronies coining their own money. If I were to create the hypermark as a PHPMX currency until Shireroth joins the 21st century and gets the Erb on there, would anyone be interested in performing transactions with it?Or does everyone just want to use Eoin's yaks?

Poetry Competition
Since it seems all three current Hyperborean citizens are poets, and since we have our own Solitary Poet elsewhere in Goldshire and a number of other micronationalists who write poetry, Hyperborea is pleased to offer its first Lavitharashinan, or Poetry Contest. Bards from all over the microworld ...

Welcome to Shireroth, where conversations devolve faster than the Cambrian era played in reverse.I've been exploring the Pendronian fora the past few days and am very impressed. Actually, the comment was basically just because some of us monopolize discussions and can be rather weird, especially on other people's boards (our Kaiser started hanging out at Shirlan one time and weirded out the local residents so much that eventually they became so crazy they joined up with us ...

Council: Duchy Status
The Kaiseress, in her infinite wisdom, has offered us Duchy status, with its corresponding greater voting rights. She believes that due to our greater activity, the roles of Hyperborea and Elwynn should be reversed. Although this is of course a great day for our people, I have a number of misgivings ...

If the Chief of Staff has so little to do, it would make sense to merge it with another position, no? And I like the new name...the German/Roman clash always bugged me. And if Jadie doesn't want to become Praetor again, then I think the Ari appointment was good.Edit: Okay, Jadie's Praetor again ...
