So concensus thus far is "don't interact with non-members"?

Well, yes, but what's the Vienna convention going to do if I decide to cancell a treaty? (Former) partners may be angry and I loose some reputation as a trustworthy partner, but that's it.

Re: The Commonwealth Court
That's actually the way it works irl: treaties are binding for as long as anyone wants them to be so. The establishment of a common jurisdiction won't change that: as soon as your parliament or whatever cancells the treaty, that jurisdiction looses it's power as well.

Re: On the structure of the Small Commonwealth
Various people I have spoken to about it say that nations like Shireroth have too much influence in the SC. They don't trust their intentions and also believe that they give up parts of their identity in some form or another.
I come from a nation (Flanders) that has rather strong isolationist ...

Re: The Commonwealth Court
There's no absolute need for a common jurisdiction (here in the form of the SCC) for treaties between nations. Most treaties exist ànd function without providing for common jurisdiction. But if you're going to have one, as is the case here, better do it right.

Re: The SCUE and its interaction with non-members
If Victorians / Anticans /... want to participate without becoming member, they don't get their own 'bank part'. Your citizens should register their accounts in Batavia, Shireroth, Gralus or an other member nation. That sounds logical to me.
Well I'm going to go out on a limb here and say That ...

Re: The Commonwealth Court
I agree. Treaties are pointless without accountability. Treaties must be taken seriously and are a legal document between parties, there MUST be a common juristiction over them.

Re: The SCUE and its interaction with non-members
I cannot see why we wouldn't. We are already doing a lot of work and have done work for other micronations that would allow us to clear any national debts we would obtain by starting out with a Loan.
But it's in the disadvantage of those who get the money. They will have to pay the loan back ...

Re: On the structure of the Small Commonwealth
I can see why someone wants to become a member (the specific treaties) and why someone isn't interested (don't care about the specific treaties). But can anyone tell me: if you want some of the specific treaties, what's the disadvantage of signing the general treaty?

Re: Livlandia, and inactive SC member nations in general
Any mechanism for us to declare a member nation dead has to be put in the general membership treaty. My suggestion would be that the Primate and/or a majority of the Assembly can apply to the Commonwealth Court to have a nation declared dead.
That makes a lot of sense and above all else, it's ...

Re: New things for the SC to do?
If I am right in my thinking I believe there is also an overlap with Shireroth and the Victorian Colony of Amokolia in parts of land, working out a shared history there would also be good.

Re: The SCUE and its interaction with non-members
Would you accept a loan (likely on excellent credit terms) from a SCUE member nation, bank, credit union etc. to have the money to run your internal economy and to be able to participate in the SCUE?

Shireroth isn't to keen on the idea of allowing a future, independent Amokolia back into the SC a third time. But that is at this time, and does not extend to Victoria whom we would support the admittance of, should they hopefully apply.
