The Free Cities, are a confederation of independent city-states the formed after the collapse of Babkha during the Machine Wars. The largest and most powerful city is Baathshahr, which serves as the seat of the Emirate of Baatharz. Eight other cities exist within what is called the Grand League, an executive committee of city leaders that convenes in Baathshahr. The other cities are Titania, Kurosh, Pyyros, Qomavra, Razaya, Sana'Ri, Salonis, and Qyr. Although each city has been influenced by the preceding nation, in this case Babkha and the neighboring Apollonian empires, they have all since developed their own unique cultures.
