The Shrine of the Wicked Garden is one of the Thirteen Temples of Eluin, the senior temples of the Froyalanish Ancient Ways. It is situated in the Amokolian city called La Terre. It is one of the oldest Vanic temples in the Elwynnese Union.

History

The temple was founded in times ancient beyond the memory of woman by native Vattnalanders who belonged to the Vanafolk and was originally decicated to Freyja alone. At the time the name of the temple was Freyushof í La Terre ("Freyja's temple in La Terre").

It gained its present name when the Ocian Governor, who was awed by the beauty of the temple and its surroundings, but appalled by the nude worship as well as the orgies and other love play taking place in and around the temple's Godsgrove and Worship Waters, described it as a "gorgeous shrine in a wicked garden". When the High Priestess of the Freyushof í La Terre learned about that comment by that foreign visitor she laughed so hard that she nearlly wetted herself, and quickly decreed that from that day forth the temple would be known as the Shrine of the Wicked Garden, which has been the temple's name ever since.

Subsequently to the annexation of Amokolia by Elwynn in the year 1572, the High Priestess of the Shrine of the Wicked Garden was invited to join the Hjartardýrlafðir, the matriarchal council of High Priessteses which governs the Froyalanish Ancient Ways; she immediately and gracefully accepted.
