==Basic Magic== Based on the Nine Traditions of Sagittarius, all initiates to the [[Hunters of the Stag]] learn these magics as part of their training. They are simple, but useful.

Invitation, based off of the Tradition of Hospitality, allows the caster to "tag" a person as friendly, so that magical traps will not fore. The spell lasts for 24 hours, and requires the use of a blade of grass, which is consumed in the casting. Peace, based off the Tradition of Peace, is used in high-tension situations. Everyone, Hunter, human, or otherwise, feels a sudden decrease in emotional tension, for as long as they are withing 20 feet of the caster. Multiple applications of this magic have been known to put people to sleep. This spell requires a rose petal, which is consumed in the casting. Memoriam, based off the Tradition of Art, allows the caster to retain a photograph-quality vision in his mind. Only one image may be maintained at a time. This spell requires an elephant's hair, which is consumed in the casting. Station, based off the Tradition of Station, allows the caster to discern the relative rank of any person. No physical component is needed for a Hunter, but to discern a non-Hunter a single clover is required that is consumed in the casting. Eagle's Eyes, based off the Tradition of the Sacred Hunt, grants the caster the equivalent of 20/5 vision for a few minutes. This spell requires a drop of water which is consumed in the casting. Perimeter, based off the Tradition of Domain, allows the caster to set an area (up to a 15' radius) so that any entrance or exit in the next 24 hours will notify the Hunter, complete with name. This spell requires a piece of string, which is consumed in the casting. Flaming Arrow, based off the Tradition of Destruction, ignites an arrow with fire, which provides both light and additional damage. This spell requires an arrow and a drop of pitch. Both are consumed by the fire, but not by the spell. Commune, based off the Tradition of Commune, allows the caster to speak telepathically with any Hunter in line-of-sight for the next twelve hours. This spell requires a piece of jackalope horn which is consumed in the casting. Mission, based off the Tradition of Mission, grants the caster unusual mental fortitude, providing resistance to mental manipulation, torture, and moments of loss of faith. This spell requires a bay leaf, which is not consumed.
