[[Erik Mortis]] was appointed to the position shortly after its activation. It allows citizens to address grievences either amongst each other or with the laws without busying the Kaiser. The Imperial Judex of the Republic of Shireroth is the country's judicial body. Headed by the Arbiter, it is used to settle legal disputes as a court of first instance. Any decision of the Imperial Judex may be appealed to the ruling Kaiser.

Additionally, the Arbiter of the Imperial Judex has power to veto amendments to the Charter. Before the appointment of Hypatia Agnesi, the position of "arbiter" was referred to as "provost".
