IMPERIAL DECREE 823: The Reward for Duty is More Duty (Shirekeep)

Dominus Thorgils Tarjeisson Ettlingar Verion, by the weaving of the Norns, Kaiser, Arandur of Alalehzamin and Utasia and Count of Ran, to his subjects and retainers, greetings, and unto the Gods of Shireroth undying and unthinking obsequience.

Know that we, in the name of all the Rightly-Guided Incarnations of the Holy Wisdom of the Ultimate Oneness of the Cosmos, have in the first place granted to the Highest Divinity, this Ordinance which is confirmed for us and our heirs forever.

WHEREAS Our predecessor Hjalmar Redquill has ruled our Imperial Republic both wisely and well, it is our desire that he shall be granted the epithet of "Balancer" as he successfully maintained a harmonious equilibrium in the Imperial Republic where countervailing forces might have made a wreck of the efforts of a lesser man;

HOWEVER He does not get away that easily;

LET IT BE KNOWN THAT We do by this our Imperial Ordinance, declare that the work of the Shirekeep Reconstruction Commission shall continue and that there is no better office to take forward this project than the Prefect of Shirekeep and that there is no better candidate for the long vacant office of Prefect than our illustrious predecessor.

THEREFORE We do hereby appoint Audun Joel Ayreon-Kalirion to the Prefectural Palace of Shirekeep, which he shall probably have to arrange the building of for himself, with effect from this date. He shall also be entitled to the honour of being addressed as the Marquess of Shirekeep, much joy may it bring him.
