Esposito (Tellian: "exposed", /ɛˈspoːzito/) is a Shirerithian surname for someone who has been removed from noble dignity for bringing the nobility into disrespute by committing an offence of caste shame. The name is also used for the descendants of such a person who would have otherwise had the person's noble or dynastic surname.

The name comes from the historical Tellian church as a name for bastards, as having been "exposed" to not be legitimate. This is no longer the case in Tellia, and Esposito is a name exclusively for people suffering from or associated with caste shame.
