The coat of arms of the House of Ayreon-Kalirion

The coat of arms of the House of Ayreon-Kalirion consists, on its shield, a depiction of Mount Yaanek and its sister peaks against a dark sky illuminated by an eight-pointed star. The shield is supported by two Euran golden lions, and rests on a bed of white orchids and Shahzamini roses. At the helm, there is a Brookshirean coronet, crested by a crowned Euran red lion. The motto is in Babkhi, شیر شما درد نکنه (šir-e shomâ dard nakone, in English "may the lion not hurt [you]".

Shield

The shield shares similarities with the Shield of Kalir, which is the symbol of the Line of Kalir, and with the Shield of the Emirate of Sathrati.

The view of the mountains is a stylicized view over the Hyperborean mountain Yaanek (Ianakve, 3273 metres over sea level), in Elwynnese mythology the resting place of the goddess Elwynn until the end of the world. It is a site of pilgrimage for followers of Treesian and Elwynnese native religions, as well as for members of the Vanic faith. It symbolizes both the house's roots to Raikoth and mainland Elwynn.

The mountains lie against a dark sky, symbolizing the polar night of northern Elwynn. At Yaanek, the polar night stretches almost half the year. The sky, and the mountains, are illuminated however by an eight-pointed star, .

The origins of the star come from Tymaria. The star was part of the flag of Tymaria, of which Shireroth once was part. It later came to represent Shireroth as a whole, for example in the coat of arms of Shireroth (but on a red background), and was after the Cession of Hasan and the subsequent creation of the Emirate of Sathrati, taken to represent the Emirate of Sathrati when on a black sky.

Supporters

The two supporters of the shield are two Euran golden lions. On Eura, two types of lions existed (some may still exist in parts of the continent, unconfirmed for now), golden and red lions.

The name "Ayreon" is based on an Elw translation of the Persian Arsalani, "lion". For that reason, lions are supporters. Despite Kalirion being derived from a Hyperborean word for polar bear, polar bears do not adorn the coat of arms.

Compartment and motto

The supporters stand on a bed of white orchids (representing Elwynn) and crimson roses (representing Babkha).

The motto شیر شما درد نکنه (šir-e shomâ dard nakone, in English "may the lion not hurt [you]") refers to what the then Shah of Babkha (Babak) told Princess Isa of Brookshire just before she married Eskender Arsalani (nicknamed šir, another word for "lion", because of his last name).
