Storjarla Geirbjörg Gefialdrsdottir, the grandmother of King Thorstein Noah of Elwynn is reading her grandson's entry in the Book of Ayreon-Kalirion‎‎ in the library of Ribat Ayreon-Kalirion.

The Book of Ayreon-Kalirion, also known as Tuuler's Book, is the tome in which all births, notable deeds, deaths and marriages as well as other important life events involving members of the House of Ayreon-Kalirion are recorded; notable deeds, deaths and important life events in accordance with ancient custom, and births and marriages in days past also by custom but nowadays as required by the Charter of the House of Ayreon-Kalirion. The Emir of Sathrati is the custodian of the book.

History

The book is a wedding gift from Prince Paul of Brookshire to his daughter Tuuler Kalir, given to her upon her marriage to the Babkhan anthropologist Eskender Arsalani to serve as a chronicle of her descendants. It has been passed down the generations ever since. It is one of the most treasured heirlooms of the House of Ayreon-Kalirion.

Description

Tuuler's Book is two feet tall, a foot and a half wide, and a thousand pages thick. The book's pages are made of Treesian vellum and illuminated with ancient Hyperborean patterns. Its cover is made of scarlet Valtian leather and adorned with golden bands and precious stones. Tuuler Kalir's personal coat of arms is to be found on the front cover, and on the back cover is a portrait of Tuuler Kalir clad as a Hyperborean Paladin and riding a polar bear.

Keeping

The Book of Ayreon-Kalirion is kept in the library of Ayreon-Kalirion Chapter House. None but members of the House of Ayreon-Kalirion may consult the book without the special permission of the Emir of Sathrati, nor may it leave the library of the aforesaid Ribat Ayreon-Kalirion without zir consent.

Member Pages

All members of the House of Ayreon-Kalirion have a page in Tuuler's Book which details zir life. The same applied to the members of the Line of Ayreon-Kalirion in the days prior to the coming into being the aforesaid House. It is incumbent upon the current Emir of Sathrati to, when the need arises, update the entries in the book.

On the top left-hand corner of each page a member's personal coat of arms is drawn while at the bottom right-hand corner is the coat of arms of the House of Ayreon-Kalirion. On the top right-hand corner of the page is a painted portrait of the member upon reaching zir legal age of majority or upon him or her becoming a member of the House, whatever may be later, while at the bottom left-hand is (space for) a painted portrait of the member in zir prime or as (s)he would like to be remebered, as the case may be, (to be) added after zir death. The drawings are nowadays done by Priestesses from the White Orchid Temple who are sent for three times a year.
