First formalised in 1646 AN, Shirerithian Gridiron was an attempt to regulate the street brawling between guild apprentices for which Shirekeep had become infamous on those occasions when it was not under siege, struck down with a plague, infested by daemons, or on fire. By bloodsportists, it is pejoratively known as "sissy bloodsport".
