Bongo Bo

Bongo Bo is a Skunk Ape (Australopithecus Menetea). As Chief of the Apes of northern Menet, he was the first of his kind to interact with humans on a regular basis. His friendship with Capt. Geoffrey T. Spaulding forged during the Third War for Cyberian Liberation continues to this day.

Bongo found a laptop and accessories abandonded during one of the armies that had moved through his territory. He taught himself how to use the machine, but still refuses to use the 'shift' key.

Bongo's people sided with Spaulding's side during the war in part to rid their area of dangerous drugs, burning many cannibis fields and intoxicating their enemies downwind.

Bongo has been active in Menet, and was Chairman of the Prohibitionist Party of Puritania. He has lived at times in Halluci among the Envisoned trees, although never sought citizenship. Bongo and Admiral James D. Quirk were instrumental in the healing of Austi Scot.

Bongo is not a Homo Sapiens. Bongo disdains small case letters because he sees them as weak, and he spells in an odd way because he feels that he is in control of his communication.

Some have critised Bongo as being representative of a racist mindset. Bongo's friends invite them to look deeply into their own selves, for that is where any prejudice represented by their good friend lies.

In his own words, "SUM PEEPUL SILLI. SUM PEEPUL STOOPID. SUM PEEPUL BADD. FEW PEEPUL AR EEVEL. MOSST PEEPUL GUD. BONGO DUZ NOTT CAIR WHATT PEEPUL WHU AR NOTT GUD SAI ORE WHATT THEI THINQUE." Translation: Some people are silly, some stupid. Some people are bad, although a few are evil. Bongo does not care what bad or evil people think or say about him.
