The '''Vanafolk''' are the people who practice the [[Froyalanish Ancient Ways|Ancient Ways]]. They are since times ancient beyond the memory of [[Vanakvinna|woman]] predominantly Vanatru. The vast majority of the human Vanafolk population are [[Vanamaðr]] and adhere to the Laws of the Vanir. A male Vanafolker is called a Vanakarl, and a female Vanafolker is referred to as a [[Vanakvinna]].
The core texts of the Ancient Ways, and thus, one might argue, of the vanafolk, are the Laws of the Vanir, and several covenants between the vanafolk and the gods of the Ancient Ways, chief among them the [[Ancient Covenant]].
 
There are also several covenants between the Vanafolk and the Gods, the [[Ancient Covenant]] being the most famous and best-known of them, due to very pleasurable Divine gifts bestowed in accordance with the covenant aforesaid such as the Frjósemigjöf and the Elskendurgjöf.
