Primae Noctis, also known as the Privilege of Primae Noctis, is the cultural term for a custom existing in the Royal Precinct of the Elwynnese Union which is known as the Kingdom of Amokolia.
History
The custom was introduced in the year 1632 by the decree of the present Princess of Anun - who is the Royal Governor of the Kingdom of Amokolia - Her Riverine Highness the Princess Fjǫrleif Llængjarla the Houses of Ayreon-Kalirion and of the Descendants of Freyja to curry favour with the Amokolian population. This did not go across altogether well with the socially conservative Amokolians, but was nonetheless adopted enthusiastically by the Froyalanish migrant population as well as the Vattnalanders.
About
It is decreed by the aforesaid custom that whenever any Amokolian subject is joined in matrimony within the borders of the Battlegoose Kingdom, the King of Elwynn or the Princess of Anun may bed such Amokolian subject on the first night of his or her union, upon the prior invitation by such individual and with the consent of his or her (future) spouse(s).
Despite several invitations, King Noah is unable to partake in the custom, due to the stipulations of his marriage contract with Queen Noor that he reserves all human sexual intercourse to his wife.
