Vanafolk are practitioners of the Ancient Ways religion of Froyalan. The vast majority of human vanafolk are of the Vanamaðr ethnic group. A male vanafolk is called a vanakarl, and a female one a vanakvinna.
The core texts of the Ancient Ways, and thus, one might argue, of the vanafolk, are the Laws of the Vanir, and several covenants between the vanafolk and the gods of the Ancient Ways, chief among them the Ancient Covenant.
