The Kingdom of Breuddwyd is a micronation founded and ruled by self proclaimed mad king, Emyr Ciaron Broeck.

History

Breuddwyd was founded on the 24th of April 2005 as an absolute feudal monarchy. With the adoption of a Grand Charter and the establishment of a legislature, the system has become more democratic.

Political System

Executive power is wielded by an elective Monarch. Upon the death or abdication of a monarch, a new one is appointed by the Casglaid, Breuddwyd's legislature. The King has extensive executive powers. Legislative power is vested in the Casglaid, a body that consists of all citizens not serving in the judiciary, serving a criminal sentence or who have not been a citizen for at least thirty days. Votes in the Casglaid are apportioned according to a weighted voting system, with citizens who participate more wielding more influence. Judicial Power is vested in the high court. Judges are appointed by the King, subject to approval by the Casglaid, for a term of sixty days.

Economy

Breuddwyd's currency, the gwy, is backed in and exchangeable for Australian dollars at a rate of 100 gwy to the Australian dollar. Bank accounts are integrated into the forum (anyone with a login automatically has an account) and currency can be earned on a post reward basis, one post earns a user one gwy. Funds for backing the currency are provided by the King.
