The Wars of the Dark Orchid were a series of interconnected conflicts beginning in 1635 AN and finally coming to a conclusion in the year 1644 with the entry of Kaiseress Noor into Shirekeep.
The key phases of the conflict were:
- The River War (1635)
- The Anarchy of Angularis (1635-1640)
- Martial Law in Goldshire (1639)
- Civil War in Goldshire (1639-1643)
- Year of the Four Kaisers (1644)
The forces loyal to the Dark Orchid played a very limited role in the next cycle of wars that began with the Struggle for the South (1649–1651) and the Auspicious Occasion (1651).
