The attack destroyed a large amount of micronational work, effectively wiping out all &quot;dead&quot; micronations, destroying a large amount of history. Different micronations responded differently, for example the [[Solomonic Empire of Attera]] moved to [[phpBB]], whilst the [[Royal Kingdom of Gotzborg]] declared a state of emergency, lost virtually all threads at their forums (with none being recovered) and rebuilt following in the months following the event. Gotzborg didn't move to temporary forums, a temporary forum was created at the board and we operated from there for the month of June 2005.<br /> <br /> The Attack could also be seen as the end-all be-all of inter-micronational board warfare. Novaya Zemlya's National Anthem, the &quot;Novaya Zemlyan Drinking Song&quot; was written by many of the Cultural Association's artists.<br /> <br /> Zemlya's culture itself is extremely diverse, with it changing from city to city. Yastrebsk of course being the intellectual and political centre of Zemlya, with its many lecture halls and political roundtable programs on television. Vilchermansk with its Bohemian architecture and artists. Alexeigrad, the vodka-fuelled centre of drunken revelry and of course, Zhivagovsk, the city in which many of the USSR's former Chekists and Stalinists chose to reside after the collapse in Moscow. There is also a strong sporting culture in Novaya Zemlya, especially after the foundation of the new Novaya Zemlyan Socialist Football Association by Yuri Zhivago, with six top flight teams, the league is slowly gaining momentum and in the mean time there have been proposals for a Chess Association to promote even more sporting acheivement in the nation.<br /> <br /> SRNZ also has its own Radio Station and Newspaper, Radio Free Zemlya and the Novaya Zemlya Gazeta, the former being published and read by Vladimir Alexei and Yuri Zhivago, with the latter being written and distributed by the Novaya Zemlya Gazeta enterprise, managed by Vilcherman. Despite the meeting of a religious council at Haligdombuurg, the religion thusfar has no cannon or distinct morale message. He was invited by his close friend [[Erik Metzler]] (who was at the time known as [[Kaiser Metzler I]]). He was barely active, but counted among the citizenry of the nation. When the HoA started, he began to post every once in a while on the HoA board. He took the name Nick the Yardistani after being annexed by the [[Yardistani Annexation Corps]] some time back. Sometime either in Alexandros or [[The Republic of Tymaria]], Gryphon claimed Yardistan as his own, basically usurping it from is originator [[Stjepan Aracic]]. It became generally accepted that the territory was his.<br /> <br /> Most of what Gryphon did in his early days was stir up trouble. He mostly felt displeasure towards many of the senior members of the nations he was in and their apparent unwillingness to notice newbies. That all changed when the [[Whit Rebellion]] occurred in Tymaria.<br /> <br /> Gryphon, seeking to gain some form of Yardistani independence movement, followed the advice of Erik and threatened the Tymarian government with a [[Spam Cannon]]. Despite the fact that no such weapon was in Gryphon's grip, the Tymarian government decided to pay attention for once. Gryphon, as well as Erik, was almost expelled from the RoT, but after several half-hearted apologies from both sides, it was generally agreed that the whole thing was a big misunderstanding. He did, however, get away with all of Shireroth under the Yardistani flag, and was singularly in charge over a large [[Anarchy]] (not counting Tymaria, of course). From that point forward, Gryphon began to be a player in the Micronational world.<br /> <br /> ==After Tymaria - Political Positions==<br /> <br /> After Shireroth left Tymaria, Gryphon was proclaimed the first Duke of Yardistan. According to him, lawmaking ought to be reserved to the nobles, those who have earned the privilege. During his &quot;reign of terror&quot;, he succedded in failing the most bills on record, thus making him the least productive Chancellor in history.<br /> <br /> During said reign of terror, two situations arose. First, the End of Political Parties act, which would eliminate all parties forever, was about to pass. At the last minute, after two extensions of the voting period, Foghorn attempted to veto it. Xon and his nation Avalonia, which had caused a few problems already, stirred up Antica enough to warrant the release of a weapon of mass destruction. The order, agreed upon by Delphi, Octavius and Foghorn as justified, was carried out with precision. However, Delphi perpetrated a second extra-order attack of his own will. When the news of the attacks became well known, the first attack was adknowledged, but the second attack denied by Delphi. Almost 6 months later, that act would come back to bite him in the ass.<br /> <br /> ===Archon of Foreign Affairs===<br /> <br /> At the moment, Foghorn is the second person to hold this position after Olorix. He has held this position for two consecutive terms. His major accomplishments in this area have been the creation of SPEAR and the [[Treaty Of BBC]].<br /> <br /> At the end of the [[Veliken War]], it became increasingly obvious that there was about to be a polarization of the micronational world into factions for the mutual defense of the member nations. The second faction was SPEAR, which was spearheaded by Scott Alexander and the Anticans. Two days later, the main force of the Naval Infantry (24,500 men), two corps of Army regulars, and the first armada arrived to reenforce the stranded soldiers. And finally, to the north are the [[Sagittandi Mountains]]. It is here that [[Sagittarius]] spent most of his life, for within the Sagittandi Mountains lie flora and fauna never before seen. [[Centaur]]s, [[satyr]]s, [[dragon]]s, [[chimaera|chimerae]], [[unicorn]]s, even [[wyvern]]s.<br /> <br /> But the greatest population within the Sagittandi Mountains are the [[pegasus|pegasi]]. They are so numerous that different breeds have come into existence, and they have begun spreading over the island. Indeed, pegasi now reside in the Nervena Plains and the Auelauk Desert. The Hordius Ten Jungle is difficult for them to survive in, and is safe from the pegasi for now.<br /> <br /> Not that the pegasi are violent. In fact, they are very peaceful.<br /> <br /> One breed, however, is not peaceful. These pegasi developed antlers, in much the same way as deer. In addition, they became incredibly territorial. They were referred to as Stags by Sagittarius, and are almost always slain on sight, even to this day. ''(They taste good too. Especially with a light honey glaze. ed.)''<br /> <br /> However, they are as prolific as they are territorial, and threatened to take over the entire island of Naudia’Diva. And so the [[Hunters of the Stag]] were born, a small group of survivalists who were dedicated to protecting the fragile and delicate environmental balance of the island.<br /> <br /> The [[Hunters of the Stag#History|followers of Horjin]] took interest in the [[Hunters of the Stag]], and worked together very extensively to protect Naudia’Diva and all of it's inhabitants.<br /> <br /> Eventually, the Hunters of the Stag and the followers of Horjin became synonymous. The recorded history of the Hunters of the Stag and the followers of Horjin begins with the ceremony and celebration that joined the two groups. The Hunters of the Stag took down epic proportions of Stag before the celebration, and the feast was incredible.<br /> <br /> Things remained much the same for many years, up until the short reign of [[Kaiser Lacrymosa II]]. The dedication of the Isle of Naudia’Diva as a National Game Preserve, Wildlife Refuge, and Sacred Hunting Ground was a triumph for the years of dedication of the Hunters of the Stag, and the building of a [[Temple of Horjin]] at the island's center only strengthened the determination and resolve of the Hunters. Now most of the Hunters of the Stag reside within the Temple, ranging out from there to perform their [[Hunters of the Stag#Rites of the Hunters of the Stag|sacred rituals]].<br /> <br /> The [[Questing Stone]] was placed in the center of the island of Naudia’Diva by Sagittarius himself. Inscribed into it are the [[Nine Traditions of Sagittarius]]. Internal Natopian history was unremarkable until a redraft, issued by Grand Chancellor Nathan Shepard, of the constitution granted excessive powers to the Senate. The Grand Chancellor then appointed all citzens of good standing to seats in the Senate and Natopia experienced a boom of internal activity. Natopia's foreign history is marked by two early wars. Almost immediatly after Natopia was reorganized into a State, the [[World Domination Society]], an organization in the area that Natopia claimed, declared war on Natopia. After months of stalemate a tentative peace was reached when both Natopia and the WDS vowed to stop gravity.<br /> <br /> This occasion is celebrated on Anti-Gravity Day. Months later former Minister of Domestic Affairs, [[Emily S.]], refused to follow the Grand Chancellor's decrees and was thus exiled. In reponses, Emily founded [[Emilyland]] and declared war on Natopia. A cease-fire has been reached but Emilyland will not accept Natopian pleas for a peace treaty.<br /> <br /> During the war with the WDS, Natopia became active in Micro-nations.org and joined the Splendid Union of Microstatia. Natopia is proud to be the first Council to join the [[International Association]], besides the founding Council, the Republic of [[West Overbrook]]. The [[Free Juice and Bagels Party]], which enjoyed branches in nations such as [[Lavalon]] and [[Alrodria]], was founded in Natopia. Natopia is a founding member, and current presiding member of, [[SPEAR]], an economic, cultural, and military union between the [[Dinarchy of Antica]], the [[Solomonic Empire of Attera]], and Natopia. On July 29, 2005, the Imperial Government of Natopia abandoned all traces of a republic and became the Sovereign Imperial Kingdom of Natopia. Grand Chancellor Shepard relinquished the title of Grand Chancellor and crowned himself King of Natopia. The main structure of the Imperial Government was largely unaltered during the Natopian Transition.<br /> <br /> ==Government==<br /> <br /> The government of Natopia operates under [[lindstromism]]. This is the political theory that all executive and legislative power is given to one person. Judicial power is given to another person, who has the ultimate authority to end the life of a tyrant that abuses the executive and legislative powers.<br /> <br /> Natopia's current Imperial Government has 3 constitutionally established branches. The executive, composed of the King, several Ministries and the Prime Minister, the legislative, embodied by the Royal Frenzy, and the judicial, the High Royal Court. Natopia divides its territorial claims into [[Demesnes]] that are administered by Knights of the Order of the [[Black Hole]], an Order reserved for the most outstanding Natopians. A demesne's status depends on the Knight's status. If the Knight holds the Rank of a Duke, then that Knight's demesne is known as a Duchy. Nathan's Korhali citizenship allowed him to gain Antican citizenship while retaining other citizenships, a rare anomaly due to Antica's citizenship policy, due to Korhal being annexed into Antica. Lavalon was a primary concern of Nathan's for almost a year. Joining at the request of Zachary Klaas, Nathan was immediatly appointed to the position of Chief Justice, the position he served for his entire life in Lavalon. Nathan left Lavalon in early 2005 due to personal differences with the newest generation of Lavalonian immigrants. After the Venerable Union of Aligned States ([[VUAS]]) brought Lavalon under Natopia, Nathan returned to Lavalon as a resident.
