View from Benacia/Issue 107: Dinarchy to Shireroth: All Our Base Are Belong To You

In a move that surprised everyone who wasn't in the government, Kaiseress Semisa I decreed to all Shirerithians the recently concluded Treaty of Aquilaria, which officially brings the Dinarchy of Antica into Shireroth. (Welcome to our monarchist brothers! Democracy is teh evil!)

Despite the joyous reception among Shireroth's ever-ready-for-annexation citizens, reaction abroad seemed markedly different. The Republic of Antica, which might've been expected to be happy at the non-independence of their rival, and the sudden, unasked-for appearance of Kaikias province under their dominion, has recently seen much to-do over whether Shireroth is friendlier to them or to the Dinarchy, and why we didn't up and give them ALL the Dinarchy's land even though they haven't shown any interest in it for weeks now. Responses from the Kaiseress and others are being delivered. Meanwhile, at least one Atteran official has expressed his dislike of the annexation publicly, both in Shireroth and in the Republic, although apparently not in his capacity as an official.

In other news, Babkha bullied the tiny nation of Sullifree recently by rec-invading its fora and declaring it part of Babkha. In response, Sullifree has apparently gotten itself semi-annexed by Natopia for protection. Way to go, camel jockeys, we are all mightily impressed!

And, last but not least, Micras has been invaded by a giant sponge from outer space. Tremble!
