I know that this is not quite in keeping with tradition, but in my Imperious wisdom I decided that the nation should be spared the transition shocks of the last several changes of Kaiser.

I'm not gone, I'm not done, but I'm about half-way through a traditional reign, and giving thought to the future.

Besides, he has a really cool coat of arms, and experience ruling the nation.

How is this not traditional? Surely, you're within your rights to declare an heir, Your Niftiness?
Or is this something to do with timing... now people will start to wonder how long it'll be until you abdicate!

A Kaiser will frequently not name an heir until he is on death's door. It keeps people guessing, and jockeying for position. I just didn't want a scenario like the last few changes of power.

I'll be stepping aside sometime before the Non-Sectarian Winter Solstice-Like Holiday.

I'd hoped to reign until the post count hit 100,000, but you can't have everything.

Sounds like a challenge. 5000 in two months? We can do it ...

Unlikely. Christmas is, what, 47 days from now? We'd have to maintain a rate of over 110 ppd to have 100000 posts by then . And I really, really wouldn't like to see people spam just to inflate our postcount... after all I wouldn't be surprised at all if more than 100000 messages had already been posted in forums that were in Shireroth's name already.

I don't want anyone spamming just to inflate the count, and I'm not going to white-knuckle the Throne waiting.

But I don't want people discouraged either.
