Resource Trade

I've had several people approach me now about how they can trade the resources in their counties, and had to carefully explain that before MITO resources were entirely useless, and in MITO trade is geared to be handled by nations, not regions within them (both because a lot of nations don't have clear regions like we do, and because I thought we'd be lucky to find more than one person in a nation interested in trading).

My first suggestion is that people interested in trading to find a second nation they can take over MiniTrade in. Seriously. Of the 18 nations that signed up, only 5 (Shireroth, Novatainia, Natopia, Tellia, Cerulea) actively trade, and another 4 (Toketi, Amokolia, Interland, Craitland) (possibly 5, since I hear Ocia may begin trading) will export when prompted. I would love to have more nations out there trading. In particular, see if you can crack the big ones like Alexandria, Batavie (both signed up) or Antica, Babkha or Stomark (all not signed up). Alexandria in particular is in a pretty cushy spot as they manage to, by their natural endowment of resources, be on level 3 already.

If that doesn't seem an option for you, I could look at inventing some sort of resource trading thing for Shireroth. But I'd need to know there were a lot of people interested before it would be worth it.

Proceed as you think most expeditious. :)

Should we consider any kind of duty / excise?

At the moment we're the second top trading nation in the world, by level (a position that will be cemented when Toketi finally sells us some metal ...). But we're also the most in deficit (largely because we make huge orders, because we're so big, and we're waiting for everyone else to come and buy all our stuff, because they each make smaller orders). So anyone who wants to buy our stuff is to be encouraged ....

I'll give you two hints. 1. They're our biggest trading partner and 2. You don't want to know.

Once Toketi will actually sell us the metals we'll have topped them (after all, we're aiming at 100, them at only 40, because they're a quarter our size) ... but for some reason nations are less willing to sell us 100 of a resource at a time than they are to sell 20 .... :fish

As there's been no interest expressed I'll leave the system as is.

Our good friends at the MCS (special thanks to Spangle) have been at it again. As a result, Shireroth has more resources! In particular, we've received a bountiful increase in Chemicals and Fur, and Novatainia has been kind enough to dramatically reduce our imports from them, bringing our trade debt to a much more manageable level. As soon as Toketi pases their bill to let the Ambassador trade with me, we should be able to get the last Metal we need and zoom up to level 9!

An update. We haven't made any more trade deals yet as the people that have what we want still aren't participating. I thought you might be interested to know, however, that a recent revaluation of the CP places it at 1.5 erb to the CP. Any Tokians reading this that want to stock up on erb for Tokian trade credits, see me. Or for CP, even (doubly see me).
Shirithians, there's not too much you can buy in Toketi/Novatainia, since most is CITRA stuff. But if you want to buy some magic items off Bayen, feel free. All NCM magic items are recognised in SCIRA, where-ever you buy them.
