When I was four, I started killing small animals...

Is that normal?

No. Not really.

Does it bring you pleasure to do so? What is your reasoning to do it?

Does it stem from aggression towards your father or a subconcious attraction to your mother?

MY HABIT OF EATING MEAT CAUSES LARGE ANIMALS TO DIE ALL THE TIME. I CONSIDER IT TO BE WORTH IT FOR THE CONVENIENCE OF NOT HAVING TO DEAL WITH VEGAN DIETS.

I'VE TRIED SOME VEGAN FOODS AND LIKED SOME OF THEM BUT I LIKE CHICKEN WAAAAAAAAY TO MUCH TO BE A VEGETARIAN AND I LIKE EGGS AND MILK PRODUCTS WAAAAAAAY TOO MUCH TO BE VEGAN. (I HAVE A FRIEND WHO IS A CRAZY VEGAN AND I LOVE HER TO DEATH BUT I WOULD NEVER HAVE THE DISCIPLINE TO FOLLOW A VEGAN DIET ... NOR WOULD I HAVE THE MONEY)

And humans evolved to eat meat. We are designed to get our protein from it. Soy just doesn't have the Right proteins to be a proper substitute for meat. That and it can lower sperm count in men.

Yeah.. I don't thijnk I'd even survive on a vegan/vegetarian diet. I eat too few vegetables to do so :p

Though, some vegetarians I don't understand.. fair enough if you don't eat meat cause of the cruelty to animals.. but then some still eat fish. I don't know how many actually do that, but its strange... I know at least two who do. That and one of them lives on a meat farm.

I'm a vegetarian but I still eat dairy products and can't give up fish entirely (I love sushi too much...).

But just because I'm a vegan doesn't mean I don't mix up my diet with meat-flavored foods. I make corn beef and hash from tofu sausage, and just last night made fried peppers and onions with tofu jalapeno sausage on portuguese rolls. I bet any one of you would convert if you got some of my good cookin. ;)

I had a big slab of beef for dinner, pan fried in a small amount of soy sauce and ground pepper. then cooked(fried?) sliced potato, zucchini, carrot and mustard green with a dash of garlic, salt and pepper. (btw: my idea of "frying" doesn't involve much if any butter or oils..)

It was delicious!

I have a friend who has been vegetarian for 30 years. He's not vegan.

He eats a lot of small meals, and seems to do OK.

I'm still omnivourous.

I had some soup with squares of Tofu in it at a sushi place the other week. Wow, that shit isn't even TRYING not to be horribly artificial. At least at places like MacDonald's they sell the recycled crap as best cow cuts and so on. :fish

Ryan, do tofu sausages have a more substantial texture? I was able to slice my tofu up with chopsticks, which I think would not work for a sausage. I like my sausages nice and firm. :kaiser

Tofu can be yummy if prepared as food rather than as penance.

Despite the fact I really really really like meat, I find tofu incredibly yummy. :p

I'm not a fan of Tofu, well granted the only tofu I've ever had was in Miso soup which was ... ok but not my favorite. I'd be interested to try some of my friend's vegan foods.

As for the vegetarians who eat fish I think it's certianly a matter of what animals you find it wrong to eat. I mean there are some meats that I won't eat (venison, veal, lamb among others) because the animals are too cute/too young.

Tofu... Lobster... Crab... evil foods...

I'd probably be a vegetarian if it weren't for two things... the relatives that I lwith love meat too much, and I find meat mighty tasty. Not turkey, though. Turkey is unholy. And so is the meat.

Though considering that my meat consumption only consists of the dinners that I share with my relatives, and that if I'm making a dinner for myself that I don't include any meat... vegetarianism isn't all that big a stretch for me.

But nobody is taking my smoked salmon away. Nom nom nom...
