Any Latin scholars?

From a discussion in Kildare:

We are Shireroth. Time is on our side.

It should be my personalto. In fact, when translated into a suitable ancient language, it will be.

Nos es Shireroth. Vicis est in nostrum pars.

Any Latin scholars out there?

I can find one, m'lord. I have enough of them available to me.

...Actually, Gilrean is a Latin student...

alas I don't have any of my Latin stuff with me but I do know the first sentence is wrong. it should be either "Shireroth sumus" or with a more emphatic we "nos Shireroth sumus" as for the second I THINK it would be "Tempus in parte nostrum est" but I'm not 100% as I don't have my dictionary with me and all of the internet translation stuff is horribly wrong over half the time.

I know, the computer is a literal beast with little sense of human usage.

I shall be patient.

I'll have access to my stuff Tuesday night or Wednesday morning so I'll be better able to correct the sentences there. I find it funny that the computer couldn't even conjugate "to be" right at least not with "we are." Instead it gave I think "you are us Shireroth."

I am fairly confident in "Shireroth sumus. Tempus in parte nostrum est." though. The only thing I'm not sure of is if pars, partis can mean "side." that's the only thing I'm dubious about. which one latin online dictionary says it can (as well as the absolutely horrible translator that exists online (and as far as I know it is the ONLY one))

That sounds so much better and logical already!

vicis might mean time as well but I have always loved tempus, temporis. It's where we get words like temporary and temporal.

and while you can technically have words almost anywhere in the sentence and still have it make sense thanks to conjugation and declension they tended to put the verb at the end

My gf took some latin, up to Latin II... I'll try to remember to ask her.

GF says that "Shireroth sumus. Tempus in parte nostrum est." "looks more correct then the other one."

THAT'S IT.

Even if it's not 100%, it just looks so good!

Thank you all.

Of course it's more correct than the other one. I'm a Latin Major! I can conjugate the present tense of "to be"!

I took Latin in High School. Your feeble attempt was feeble, Loki.

Of course it was. Web-based translators frequently suck. Luckily we have resources.

Thanks again, all who assisted.
