Speech/Eulogy, plus Imperial Decrees nos. 310 + 311

Dearest friends and countrymen,
Yesterday (or, for some of you, early this morning), our beloved Kaiser Ayreon abdicated and took his own life. We are all deeply saddened. But, as a nation, we shall continue forward, as we have with e passing Kaiser. We leave behind a wonderful ruler and a wonderful friend.
Kaiser Ayreon began his reign unexpectedly with the assassination of Kaiser Hasan I, who broke an oath to the gods and appointed Ayreon over Loki, as was agreed upon. After a turbulent battle for succession, Ayreon arose victorious, and so began a reign as tumultuous as the path to the throne.
Ayreon was a quiet Kaiser, content to leave much of the business of the nation to the Landsraad and his ministers. There was much change during his reign. Brookshire, Elwynn, and Yardistan each saw new dukes (Elwynn twice so). Undeterred, Ayreon continued on. He battled through much sickness, served by three stewards (HypatiasMom, Ardashir Khan, and myself).
Ayreon, wise and true, left us with a new and different Shireroth. However, in his passing, he has left us with a most precious gift. With his appointment of Jacobus Loki as his heir, the imperial succession shall no longer be tainted by the competition and rivalry that began with the passing of Mors V. This fact alone shall leave him forever in our debt, as well as forever in our hearts.
His reign was short, but it was full, lived out to the fullest. His memory will live on forever, dear in out hearts.
I've found it hard to bring a suitable epithet to mind, but one sprung to mind and stuck.
IMPERIAL DECREE NO. 310
By my power, as granted by his Niftiness, Jacobus Loki the unnamed Kaiser, and the Landsraad:
Kaiser Ayreon the Ordinal-less shall be remembered to the history books as Kaiser Ayreon Stilli ("The Calm/Quiet").
Let it be done as decreed,
Signed,
Steward Corey I
In Ayreon's memory, I shall require a short period of mourning:
IMPERIAL DECREE NO. 311
By my power, as granted by his Niftiness, Jacobus Loki the unnamed Kaiser, and the Landsraad:
For a period of one day, as a time for mourning the loss of Kaiser Ayreon Stilli, the following institutions shall suspend business except as required by emergency or duty:
The Landsraad
The Ministry of the Exterior
The Ministry of the Interior
The Ministry of Military Affairs
The Treasury
The Registrar
Let it be done as decreed,
Signed,
Steward Corey I
May we move forward, fueled on by the memory of our dearest Ayreon.
LONG LIVE THE KAISER!

My Lord Steward--
Thank you for that moving and fitting tribute. You have memorialized Kaiser Ayreon well and faithfully. We shall not see another like him in our lifetimes, and now he belongs to the ages. His epithet captures his character and his reign, and he will be long remembered for this. Aryeon Stilli (The Calm/Quiet) was also Aryeon the kind and just.

I propose that we change the name to
Ayreon the Traitor. Or Ayreon the Babhkan, it has the same meaning.

As I understand it, Ayreon is no traitor.

I think that you should back off and recognize that he didn't go along with Hesam's and Ardy's plot in the end.

No, the honour of Jacobus was damaged by the rumours he had murdered Hasan. I can't forgive Ayreon taking his crown while he knew there was a Babhkan plot.

Rumors spread by Hasan. The Crown wasn't "taken" by Ayreon, it was legally willed to him by Hasan. I really don't see the problem. Ayreon didn't do any controversial things, the crown has passed to Jacobus, Corey is ruling Steward in his absence and everyone's laughing at the silly Babkhans.

Ayreon
took the Crown, while he knew what the Babhkans were planning. Rightfully it belonged to Jacobus. A rumour that Loki had killed Hasan was the only reason to take away his right on the Crown. He could have brought an even more active reign but now he can't do anything because he is away. Maybe this is even a Babhkan plan, letting us think the coup has failed... maybe Corey is an evil Babhkan!

I can really recall how Ayreon said "HAHAHA!! Nananana Jacobus!" when Hasan willed the throne to him. And his reign is very indicative of someone plotting to hand Shireroth over to the Babkhans, what with all the camels running around in Shirekeep and everything. I also dislike the thought that the throne "belongs" to anyone or that anyone has a "right" to it. It belongs to the current Kaiser and he/she can leave it to whomever he/she chooses to.

Would it help to point out that Ric was the one who revealed this plot to us, and refused to do anything more than be Kaiser and so caused the plot to come to an end?

Probably not. We know this to be true, there are just some of us (Jonas) involved in a battle against reality.

I want to ask you to say 'Ayreon' instead of Ric, we are discussing about the Kaiser and not the real person. The Kaiser is dead, Ric is alive.
His suicide and proclaiming Jacobus his heir showed he wanted to avoid the planned coup by the Babhkans... so he gets the advantage of the doubt (a Dutch expression).

I would say a pretty common expression. In English "benefit of the doubt" (or something very close). So revealing the plot and resisting the "coup" does not show that he wanted to avoid the "coup" then?

That is true, but Ayreon was only a Shirerithian citizen at the time.

You can ask any Babkhan, I've never,
ever registered an account in Babkha. I've never even visited their forums until I went to look in the newly revealed Ostan-i Sathrati forum.

In normal life a normal Steward... but when evil plans are made you become AGENT BABHKAN NR. 1!!

Corey is not a Babkhan and has never registered an account in Babkha. As an individual who has held admin in both Shireroth and Babkha, I can confirm this.
