Could you please say "Passed" or something instead of "Approved"? The Landsraad is a legislative body, not a council for approving land claims or something...

Jonas--

It is a matter of proper English to signify a passed bill as "PASSED." Please change the word you use, so you will conform with standard English used the wold over by all legislative bodies. Thank you.

Praetor Jonas,

You have your orders.

I don't see any reason to change after more than a year.

I know we aren't the MCS, but in Dutch we say 'goedgekeurd'. Translation: Approved.
This has nothing to do with the MCS.

It's the fact that as Praetor, you aren't approving the Bill, you're declaring it as passed.

It is a nuance of the English language Jonas. If you say that it is "approved", the implication is that you approved it, whereas if you say it has been "passed" it reaffirms that it was the will of the Landsraad. Mad I know, but appropriate.

I indicate that the bill is passed, by saying it's approved. I don't see why to change it after a year because someone has a problem with it.
We are really becoming a bureaucracy if I'm even forced to say passed instead of approved.

Is it that hard for you to change your ways in this manner? :) And it ain't just someone... it's a few people I think...

No, it's a question of honour. I feel offended when I'm forced to change certain manners. And even more because I use it more then a year, but NOW they force me to change it.

I get ordered to do stuff all the time - in micronations and out. I don't reject the orders just because they're orders, though I sometimes do based on their content.

A year ago Shireroth did not have a legal system. With the increased importance of the law, we must refine it and be specific. Remember, this IS still a micronation, we are attempting to create somewhat of a responsible government.

Or you want to change Shireroth in a bureaucracy. What doesn't means it is a responsible governement.
Do you want to control my signature and avatar too?

A good speaker submits to the will of the parliament he presides over. Also, you are not only an officer of the Landsraad, but its servant.

What parliament? It's the Khan who made a decree!

Parliament: Landsraad
Member of Parliament: Landsraad Member: Ari
Superior Office to the Parliament: Steward: Ardashir.

Indeed, Ari is one of the members of the Landsraad, not the parliament itself. And the Khan is Steward but hasn't the right to interfere in Landsraad procedures.

Again, the Steward has no authority to interfere in the internal proceedings of the Landsraad. Although the Landsraad can, and is attempting to, direct the Prætor.

It has yet to be determined whether the Praetor is a member of the Landsraad or not. By the current definition (according to the Charter) he is not.

You know, I was going to just say "OK" and forget the issue, it didn't seem that important to me, but decided to go to sleep instead... and you guys managed to blow it up into two imperial decrees, several calls for resignation, and a minor constitutional crisis. I love this place. :kiwi

People do have a tendency to go for the overkill around here, I'll grant you that.

It did rather blow up, didn't it ...

Jonas, as I friend, I think it'd be nice if you did say "Passed" rather than "Approved" - Passed is rather more parliamentary. I'm also going to add the word "Please" to that request. Please say "Passed" because it'll keep other hot-heads happy (plus Ari, who's certainly not a hothead).

If we can have a Dutchy and a Kaiseress, we can approve bills.

He can say "Hoooaaaa Nelly, its done been done", for all it really matters.

Or we could invent a Shirirthian word for it.
