Shireroth

Well, my support dwindles. It could grow again.....

I was quite tempted to bear my crown (or my legitimate claim upon it) away, or to engage in hit-and-run warfare, leaving the anti-Kaiser to sit on a rickety, divided throne.

The part of me that understands the actions of Hasan would do that, and laugh himself silly for ages of ASC time.

I'd considered abdicating in favor of Ardy or Jess, and setting off a second tier civil war. Also most entertaining, but, that to, is too Hasanish, attempting to control and twist events after one's time is over.

But that's not who I really am, and Shireroth deserves more than that. The loyalty of Jonas and Jess, Scott's disowning of the kinship of his House to Hasan the Faithless, and the sympathy shown me by others shows me that what Shireroth is all about is still worthy.

So it is time to end the war and move on.

Jess, regetfully, your Stewardship is over. See you in Maraguo.

I name Erik, Count of Monte Cristo, as my heir as Kaiser.

I resign all of my official positions in Shireroth. I will retain my citizenship. I maintain my residence in the County of Yardistan, and declare myself the loyal servant of Count Jess and Duke benkern. Watch my house while I'm gone, guys!

I cannot endorse the Kaisership of Ric. I'm certain he is a good person, but swearing to him would be endorsing my own betrayal, and vindicating Hasanish evil. Sorry, can't do it. I urge him to step aside in favor of Erik as well.

I humbly request Kaiser Mors VI (or whatever name he chooses) to name Ric as Steward.

Whatever the outcome of our struggle had been, I saw that you are a man who sticks to his word, who cares, not only for the nation but for its people too. I remember when you told me you were glad I was feeling better and that out a big smile on my face.

I am glad you have decided to stay a citizen of Shireroth. You have done much to our community, nation and empire. Think of the days when you kept it going just by sheer insistence, and then, of course, the wiki. I want to give you induct you in one of the orders of honour of our realm, as described in the books of law of Shireroth, but I fear you would see it more as in insult than as an appreciation from me. And I understand that.

If you ever feel you wish to return from exile during my reign, feel free to do so. I hold nothing against you. What you did, what you claimed, was what by what you thought was right and just, and I respect that.

Jonas, it was a very interesting story, and fun to read. However, circumstances have a way of concluding things in ways we didn't plan. Keep writing. Perfhaps next time they wiill choose your story.
