Really becoming rather confused

... and I don't have time to read the hundreds of posts.

But then again, I'm only here for a day and then gone for another week. So if someone could kindly post a summary in that time would be lovely. Clearly Ric and Jacobus are both going for Kaiser (and I assume Ric is not Shah anymore?). I think Jacobus deserves it, but anyway ...

There was an agreement saying Jacobus would be Kaiser after Hasan.
Hasan did not follow this agreement for some reason.
Hasan appointed Ric.
The agreement was not legally binding.
By law Ric is Kaiser.
It is generally agreed Ric is the legal Kaiser, but Jacobus should have been instead.
Jacobus is dropping out?

Yep, that pretty much sums it up. And, no, Ric is not Shah any more, and has no current connection to Babkha. After the late Kaiser was assaassinated, Hasan's ghost pronounced it murder most foul and said that not only was he murdered, but that he could prove Jacobus complicit in the plot. The posted evidence seems more circumstantial than what would be needed to convince the populace of a plot here, so it would seem Hasan essentially changed his mind aboiut honoring his agreement. Ric was chosen rather than Jacobus, which is why we are now in the situation in which we find ourselves. There is no question aboiut the previous promised accession, but this promise has been abrogated, through no activity on the part of either Ric or Jacobus. It would seem that, flimsy as it might appear, Hasan really believes the man to whom the throne was originally promised is, himself, involved in the plot.

That gives you a more in-depth look at the issues now dividing us. I was awaiting the promised proof, and when I PM'd Hasan to request it again, he claimed it was already posted. The postings are more an accusation rather than evidence, IMHO. Though I would not put it past a number of micronationalists to plot and plan, as has been shown in other endeavors than this one, this accusation does not seem to rise to the level of legal proof here.

We are now left with two kaisers, Jacobus, to whom the promise was made; and Ric, the legal heir, who would seem to have been chosen to avoid keeping an agreement. Both men would rule well; only one can rule here. It is no longer amusing to see the wrangling and tug-of-war continue, and we need a resolution. All Shirerorth is in turmoil. And I don't know how to untangle it. It's rather like the Solomonic decision in which two women contended an infant was her own child. The judge ruled the child should be cut in half and half given to each mother. One said. "That is fair"; the other cried and said, "Give the baby to the other woman." The judge ruled again and said, "Give the baby to the woman who is willing to give it up to keep it alive. She is his mother." In the same way, if this wrangling continues much longer, I can see it tearing Shireroth apart, and destroying it. We must prevent that from ever happening.

Exactly! Which is how it seems Loki has been convinced to stop pursuing the throne. :)

But in this version of the tale, both mothers get the baby, because now we are all able to enjoy Shireroth as we should have been able to for the past week or so.

I had not heard this yet. I am saddened that both men were injuired in this situatiion. Neither one deserved to be dragged through it, and I am more sorry than I can say at any outcome which robs one man to reward another, no matter how deserving.

Well don't worry, I think Loki is still keeping his crown... or throne... or something and moving it to Maraguo.

Something's going on anyway.

I think I need to see this actually spelled out.

Hmm, seems that he is dropping out of the race, which means we have Resolution!

I have been on the forum for the fledgling country of Maraguo, and it would seem that Jacobus has gone into exile there, and has been acclaimed leader of that new country. http://maraguo.proboards80.com/index.cg ... &thread=16

I wish him well, and salute him in his new role.

Well, there goes my theory that people throwing tantrums and stomping off to start their own rival nation when they don't like the decisions made in the old one was all in the past.

And Jacobus has been involved in it since the very beginning. It is right and fit that he should rule there.

I stand corrected.
