Knightly Orders proposal

We haven't given out any
Knightly Orders in a long time, and Jake wanted a
simple test resolution for the new economy.
I suggest giving Order of the Dragon to Andreas the Wise and Jonas for their role in forging our alliances with Gralus and Batavie respectively. The amount of times I've seen them cheerleading for Shireroth in their own countries, in the MCS, or elsewhere is just amazing.
Also, an Order of the Griffin to Jeroen van Veen, the leader of the Batavian government, as a way of saying "We love you!" to Batavie generally. They've been our main ally in this war so far and had a remarkably pro-Shirerithian foreign policy in general.

What can I say ... I humbly like this idea ... (since I can't humbly accept the award since it isn't actually offered to me yet, I'm just ... nominated?)

A problem. Jeroen isn't the Prime Minister anymore, that's me!
But Jeroen van Veen is indeed one of the more important Batavians and I would support his nomination.
About Andreas: he deserves it!
About myself: I feel honoured by it!

Just so everyone knows. I would have decreed the orders for Andreas and others, but we want to use the Landsraad to test the new economy. So I just decreed an order for Ardashir since he's basically running the entire war and really really deserves it.

I'm sure these "nominees" don't mind waiting a little bit your Niftiness.
Anyway this sounds great. I support all these nominations and look forward to seeing those who deserve it rewarded for their efforts.

1- I'm all for the orders for the nominees.
2- It won't be a good test, because it will most likely be unanimous.

Where in the world did you find that commemorative coin with both Richard Nixon and his shamed and departed Vice President, Spiro T. Agnew? I haven't seen that for over 35 years! I can't even remember the reason it was struck in the first place. Perhaps for Nixon'soverture to China?

I think its an inaguaration medallion, struck by the US mint, probably in Philadelphia.
The signature under the bust is Gilroy Roberts, the same fellow who did the obverse of the Kennedy Half dollar.

This appears to be a proof striking, rather than th finish shown on the link.

I found a picture of the coin in the same place I found one of the only known photos of Nixon's Secret Service Uniform. The ridiculous ice cream man suit. Of course I won't show it here since I'm not supposed to visually illustrate my points anymore.

Sorry, guys, I think my brain must have been out to lunch when this was displayed. This was only the second presidential election during which I was allowed to vote. The voting age was still 21 then. The world has changed greatly since then.

Not to be arrogant or anything ... but was this ever actually put to the Landsraad?

I believe it was just dropped and never persued. Perhaps we should revisit this proposal.

Believe it or not, I am not interest in accruing extra titles and honorifics. Howeverr, I feel that a serious proposal should be given serious consideration by the dukes in the Landsraad, which is why I posted as I did.

They ALL deserve it.
There wouldn't be a Shireroth as we know it today without Jonas the Stalwart.

@hypatiasmom: My "greedy bastard" comment was directed towards Andreas, not you. I would 100% support any titles given to you.

Thank you, Corey, for such a gracious comment. I was just assuming that a forgotten proposal should be dealt with, one way or another.

Why not contribute to Andreas stash of titles? If he would visit Maraguo, we'd give him another one.

Eventually, he is likely to fall over from their sheer weight.

I'd really like the Landsraad to bestow the Dukes' thanks upon these individuals. *hints*
The two awards that the Landsraad can bestow in these cases are the Celestis Award and the Red Dragon Award...
